[/THope the following helps

There are three regimes that need to be in place when using and maintaining suspended access equipment

Thorough examination        (six monthly)
Inspection and maintenance    (quarterly)
Load test                  (annually)

Reference P/O =Property owner

The annual load test will include any tracks, turntables etc. To complete the annual test the appointed suspended access contractor will need to suspend test weights in a cradle and traverse the cradle the whole length of the tracks. My guess the appointed testing company will be using your cradle during the testing at present. If so your cradle should be listed on the P/O asset register, testing specification and therefore will appear on the Test certificate. If so one question at that stage is your equipment insured for use by you or the P/O ? The P/O also will employ a competent person to complete the six monthly thorough examination, normally the insurance inspector. This is really important to establish your cradle is built into these regimes. (cost covered by the P/O)  If not you will be responsible for employing a suitable contractor. Basically you owning the cradle will complicate the controls, and is unusual in any case. I am sure also it will increase the overall costs as no doubt you will want to pass on the costs. I would recommend approaching the P/O and see if they will purchase the cradle.

The above is not conclusive as there will be other things to consider.... Lot of hassle for all

Thanks for all your help guys.
The upshot is the cradle has been condemned
as it does not have safety cables only the 2 load cables
mind you I have been useing it for the last 2 years
and didn't know
