Can i replace a 7.2 vac with a 5.7

I have a 3stage 7.2 vac that needs replacing
for my porty ALLTEC PRO PLUS.
I gave woodbridge a call and the salesman said i cant replace it with a 5.7,i have to replace it with a 7.2.
I'm just looking for a second opinion.
I'm only asking because i've seen some cheaper 5.7
vacs on Ebay.

I've just replaced both the 7.2 on my extracta with 5.7 ones and its going a dream.
A fraction of the cost as well
Have to make sure you replace them both at the same time with same type though.
The larger 7.2 ones are just not viable, mine were going every six months, at least this way if the smaller ones last only six months its only £60 each.

No, from what i understand they have to be the same,
On my extracta they are connected so one would probably damage the other if they are not matched,
Think thats probably the case on most machines

If the other one is going well, flog it on ebay - you may get for it a good chunk of what a new 5.7" costs.

You could maybe get 3 x 5.7's in there if you're handy at a bit of mechanics

I bought two 5.7 motors and just looked at them.
The thing is,the 2 wires on the vacs are black and look the same. How do i know which is live and which is neutral,it won't blow anything if i connect the wrong ones will it.
Cheers.

I'm going for a beer.
