« on: January 15, 2011, 10:27:26 am »
Hi everyone,
I am wondering if there is a place where you can upload video clips to put on your website.

I know i am just being lazy but time frames decree this really.

I am looking for clips for carpet, upholsrty, and curtain cleaning. the curtains are cleaned with hot solvent machine.

Regards

H

Go on Youtube and just type it in, I've put a stain protection
one on my website, it's dead easy to do.

he wants videos not still photos.

I think he wants generic videos of carpet cleaning,  I can't think of any where to get them.

Why not make your own? It's amazing what can be achieved with a camcorder and windows movie maker.

And no, I'm not trying to turn this topic into a run of lame jokes about 'home movies'. So don't start  ;D

I have been watching Ian Harper  ;D ;D TV

To be honest Piere made me want one

So santa bought me one  for Christmas

Now need to loose weight and grow hair

and learn how to use it

Also been watching loads of DVDs by these Internet Information guys who earn millions.

I thought Robert Saunders and Joy Polish were expensive but they are cheap compared with these guys

Harry

use other when they make a point that would take you time and effort but in the main DIY.

Dont worry about it just sit down and go for it. I try my best to do one takes (and it shows) this way is is you being you and not trying to be something your not. people love that as they get all that pro stuff all day long. its refeshing when you see marketing this way.

The video below is fun but makes a point

You might want to make a point about heat in carpet cleaning

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTiR37_eIjU

Here are some that i use to make some points

The interesting thing about my blog above is that you can then link back to it from other sites. this all helps with PR juice

Good luck

Err, I hope your asking the owners permission John. Yes its easy doing from there - but would the owner be happy that you are putting it on your own commerical entity  ???

Unless I'm mistaken you can put anyone's YT video on your site. It's a free for all. That's why the embed code is there.

Do yourself a favour and do your own though. They don't have to be broadcast quality, just get a message across and don't bore the crapola out of people.

Exactly Wynne that's why the code is available and
why it's so easy to put it on your website.

I have been lazy and relied on my son who dies my site in Computer Code etc

So how would you upload a Video or if i made one how would I email  it to him so he could add it to my site

Probably a daft question as I presume I would end up with a Video file  on the  hard drive

Actually it's quite a complicated question. However I would recommend this approach for yourself.

Get yourself a Flip type camera. These run as cheap as £60. There's the Flip HD, the ZiX range from Kodak and the Vado.

These cameras allow easy upload of videos to YT so there's no need to transcode or do any processing. Some Smartphones can do a similar thing and if you are in the market for a new phone this might be the way to go.

Set up a YT account.

Use the camera/Smartphone to upload your video to your YT account.

Once the video is uploaded you can look for the 'embed code' this can then be cut and pasted into a web page.

This is the simplest method, not necessarily the best but is a great start.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

I've done a few videos for my websites, a few tips

1)buy a tripod,

2)don't try and shoot it all in one take unless your video is designed to make only 1 very simple point, you will need to edit your film even if its to cut of the beginning where you turn on the camera and jump in front of it.

3) don't try and film yourself, making a video is a 2 man job even if it only to zoom in or move the camera as you work.

4)use MS  live movie maker which is a free download or already on your computer, it is very..very easy to use

Use MS-LMM to put a title and end contact number on it.

MS-LMM has a 1 click Icon to upload direct to youtube.

On my PC the red background on your sites is very bright and makes it hard to read, maybe your lad could turn it down a notch.

I will send you some links to free alternatives to that software.
