I know it is possible to disable it as it is offered as an option from some sellers. Before i go email the company, does anyone know how to disable it?

There is a circuit that they supply, it fits where the battery compartment at the bottom of the L5 is. If you hot your unit from the states they normally offer you the opportunity to buy that in addition to the basic unit. Think I paid about £20 extra for mine.

I'm thinking with postage now thats gonna be quite a few bob to get hold of that? If no one tells me different i'm gonna have to investigate pullin' wires off.

You can't disable it,.. you have to swap the ignition unit for one factory disabled.
