Solvent protector
« on: January 04, 2011, 09:18:15 pm »
Happy new year to you all!

I'll be dry cleaning a 92% silk/ 8% Viscoe sofa in the next couple of weeks!!! they've also asked me about protecting it! Just wondered what is the best way to apply the protector?? If it's some sort of sprayer would be possible for one of you fine chaps to point me in the right direction for one!

I will be using prochem products! both solvent and protector! Unless of course someone else could recommend any others??

Thanks in advance!!

Billy

Billy,

As far as I know silk and viscose are solvent clean only so I would use solvent protector as matter of course.

I use Prochems as it does say on the container for use on silks etc so its a good selling point to the customer that you are using proscribed products only.

Best to apply solvent protector through a quality sprayer like 'gloria' ebay do them quite reasonable.
With appropriate fine jet nozzle and viton seal for solvent. 3 bar pressure will be fine, don't over apply and groom when finished.
