if you have one pump running 2 reels the flow wouldn't be as great on the 6mm as opposed to the 8mm

if you have freezing conditions the 6mm will freeze quicker than the 8mm

The 6mm fits on a reel better

the 8mm doesn't put as much strain on the pump (what a supplier told me but not sure if its true)

when I changed from 6 to 8 I found that I had more control over the flow rate with my eco flow controller, gave me more scope for contolling water usage on regular cleans and rinsing, also the fact that 8 will freeze up less quickly is an adantage the way things have been of late.

i have 6mm and i havnt had it freeze, but then if its that cold i dont work, its lighter than 8mm

This has been debated many times but here are my reasons-

8mm because-

Less pressure required in system thus less strain on everything including connectors etc.

Can run pump much slower as there is less resistance meaning less power required from battery, less strain on pump. (mine will run all day from cig' lighter socket in van)

Flow more reliable & controllable



Cleantech used to do ( & probably still do ) superb 8mm ID hose. It wasn't much bigger OD than 6mm hose. You could get 100m on a 50m hozelock reel.
Most suppliers 8mm hose has a bigger OD than the Cleantech one.
