I have got a job that involves cleaning a public access alleyway between two shops,can i temporarily close the alley for cleaning or is it a case of stopping and starting every time.

Is it a busy area / high footfall through the alleyway? Who has asked for it to be done, the shop owners? Do it on a sunday morning when it's at it's quietest. This coming saturday or sunday would be ideal!!
