Just starting out and lovin it-advice needed
« on: December 11, 2010, 07:38:17 pm »
Jacked in the job and givin it a go
thanks to Mick from lyminster for taking me out for a few days

been leafleting and knocking doors and putting flyers in shop windows etc  for a week now taking bookings for January
I think I must have lost a stone pounding the streets

it's hard work but have managed to get a good days repeat work in a week and have taken on a mate to help canvas right up to Xmas
what has surprised me is the amount of windies  I've seen driving around this week must have been at least a dozen

See what I can pick up in the next 2 weeks

So you're not cleaning until January?

Do people think you're mad knocking on the door in this weather? How many pairs of socks are you wearing?!!

will do
cant wait to get started

doing everything traditional until got the funds for a wfp set up

canvassed only bungelows so far (there are thousands round her)   so no danger of breaking my neck

looking at buying a small wfp set up in the new year not sure what to get thou trolley backpack or what i thought was buying a pump box and doing a diy system in the van  only need to go 2 floors
and initially buying water til i can set up my own system

need to buy a bit at a time

Good luck with it.

If you have the balls to start up in the winter you will love it in spring and summer.

if it is dirty it is fair game

been leafleting and knocking on doors all week with a mate helping
soaked and frozen but  by tomorrow would have done 5000 leaflets all on bungelows in a compact area
the response has been pretty good
been taking work on from jan
got another 12 in 4 days so far this week and picked up 2 gutter cleaning jobs which im doing next week
pays for my leaflets and a few quid for my mate helping drop them
doing another week leaflet dropping next week hopefully get another days work

a combination of leaflets dropped and knocking later in the day seems to be working

spending the weekend working on my technique the family and neighbours love it--all freebies their windows have never been cleaned so much in the last few weeks

there are loads of lockup shops around here how would you price a shopfront and what frequency do they usually have them cleaned

also looking at getting a trolley or backpack in the near future but looking for someone who sells pure water in sussex area  as dont want to spend out on a system yet
have got hold of 2 tanks 175l and 250l
