Vac length and suction

Hi

Would i be right in thinking in lamens terms, The longer your vac length the more suction lost ie water lift.
So if i was running from a triple vac at 75ft it woud have a similar suction to a twin vac at 50ft. that is if it was all motors was set in the way etc.

The longer the hose the greater the reduction - yes.

However if you decrease the bore size of the hose it will lessen the effect.

You can still get good vac and water lift etc from 75 foot with a 2 inch hose mate..

Only if you have the vacs to go with it

3 x 5.7
or 2 x 7.2

Anything less just doesn't cut  ???

I run 100ft from my Airflex with 2inch hose with out any noticable difference.
 2inch is better for longer runs

You do not lose lift on longer hose runs, what
happens is you have more air to evacuate, to
reach peak suction so unless you pause to allow
peak suction to be attained you are cleaning at
below normal lift for a lot of the time.
A triple vac at 75 feet has no where near the suction
of a twin vac if series mounted at 50 feet. It will have
much more CFM's but nearly half the lift.

i.e 2 x 3 stage parallel = approx' 200 CFM at 137" or there abouts.
    3 x 3 stage parallel = approx' 300 CFM at 137" or there abouts.
    2 x 3 stage series = approx' 100 CFM at 240" or there abouts.

At 300 CFM it takes very little time to evacuate the recovery tank plus
nearly 20 litres for a 50 ft 2" hose.
The 2 x 3 stage series will take 3 times as long to evacuate the hose.
