Anyone diy'ed the vikan easy shine ?

Looking at getting a vikan easyshine soon....

Just wondered if anyone has done a diy version ? what parts to use and where from if you wouldnt mind  ;D

have a google for doodlebug - been told they work very well - couldn't be worse than the easy shine  :-X
