There was a load scraping sound as the cable scraped under the door. Strange noise, I thought, a split second before realising what it was. Only damage was the plug bust inside the house.

Couple of years back I made it to my first job 10 miles away with the heater still in the van, and 20ft off cable out the back door.

Mind you I am the bloke who drove 50 miles to Cadwell Park for a track day and only realised I hadn't hooked the trailer up when I went to get the bike for noise testing, it was still sat on the trailer on my driveway!

I've not done that but I have driven off with a piece of hose plugged into the van and the other end still attached to the reel on the footpath.
