Just ordered my Super-lite
« on: November 24, 2010, 04:33:02 pm »
I Went for the The Super-Lite® Brush Dual-Trim Flocked 15 Degree splay £37 with delivery.

for standard hight Im still using my old 17foot extel pole maybe i should treat myself to one of there 18 foot CL-x or SL-x? which ones are better?

Would any of you think i will feel the difference with the superlite brush and one of Gardiners poles or should i slug it out with the extel till it falls apart? ;D

There is a world of difference between the xtel and slx poles.  Same size closed similar length open, but bendiness and weight are so much better on the slx.  I believe the clx is not as good as the slx but still not bad.  Believe me if you go for an slx with a sl brush you won't believe the energy you save.

Thanks simon , I think the clx is the budget version of the gardiner poles. the slx is more then twice the price but is it the best then?

I would consider an slx over a clx but would i see a difference with the clx over the extel or should i just spend £185 for a 18 foot slx?

these poles seem very light. are you sure i will be able to put pressure on on the pole as i do with the extel without it breaking?

I find it hard to imagine a great benefit using an slx or clx at 18ft over a17ft xtel. I believe there would be benefit at longer lengths such as 22ft and upwards.

I recently put a vikan rectangular flocked brush on my 17ft xtel replacing the sl dt mono and I think the extra weight of the vikan lends to better scrubbing (haven't yet tried the sl flocked).

The pole is a bit heavier as a result but it really does not seem a big deal.

Spot on!

The only other thing I would say is consider a longer pole. The 22ft slx will still be dramatically easier to use than your current pole & you'll have that extra reach! I use a 25ft slx for everything from ground to 30ft.

Let us know how you get on with the brush mate. ;)

I use a Slx 25 my new partner has just got a Clx 22.

My pole is a lot more rigid, but to be honest, I like how his has a bit of sway, springs back across the window as you scrub sideways.

He said it was a bit awkward at hight tho.

So just thought I would say go with the Sl if you can afford but the Cl in my opinion is a very good pole.

Ps, my slx seems colder than his, but may be where its warn.

i use a green unger xtell hybird think it is with superlate draul trim (the one for rincing on)

didnt like it at first.. but getting quite into it now also takes the weight off from the unger brush that comes with it but enough weight for scrubbing!

dd's was a DT mono which is stiffer than your's. I'm pretty sure your new brush will stay on! ;)

I've had just about every Vikan in the range, the lastest one I tried 3 weeks ago thinking they might have lightened them. It lasted about an hour before being slung in the shed, I now wash my van with it. ;)

22 ft clx with a flocked dual trim supalite on the end is what i use for most of my maintenance clean domestic work.

fantastic and a million miles better than an xtel and vikan brushs and your arms/shoulders and elbows will thank you for it!!
