trying something new **trad top tip**
« on: November 16, 2010, 07:40:49 pm »
when i first started i was using fairy liquid. then i changed to "squeegee off"

i went back to fairy as the "s/o" wasnt much different to fairy & it got the wet cloths full of soap far too quick, meaning more rinsing of cloths.

I ordered a trial bottle of Glass Gleam 4.

A phonecall from home at about 1 this afternoon to say it had arrived, i nipped back to get it so i could give it a go.

We did 2 semi's, quite big, £10 each. Well that was me, hooked on the stuff

*hardly no "drag"
*no "bleeding"
*no horrible soap scum along the bottom
*frames clean up much quicker

in fact those 2 houses normally take us 20-25 minutes. and i reckon today they took us 15-20 minutes. I never had to do any detailing what so ever.

anyway, then someone went and stuck an old sponge (applicator, t-mop, call it what you like it does the same job) in the bucket which was saturated with fairy. so the GG4 didnt get a good test. but those 2 houses were enough of a test for me.

by 3:00 i was on the blower to Window Clean Center to order myself a large bottle ;D

seriously, if you havent tried it, give it a go. you can get a 150ml trial bottle from window clean center for only £1.50.

Ryan,

I love using GG4 - made the switch a couple of months back.
My only problem was using too much at first, so make sure you get a measuring bottle.

It can be a bit tricky to use in strong sunlight though; if you`ve been used to Fairy too.
Should be ok this time of year though.

I used gg3 and now have some gg4(have moved),strange stuff,it seems totally unforgiving, kept thinking i needed new rubber but i am no expert and being newish never get easy windows to clean(too many first cleans) so i have switched to washing up liquid as i like the suds so i can tell whats being left behind, if at all.

i use gg3 and i recently bought some squeegee off so i mix  the two!

the cracking shine of the gg3 coupled with the slip of squeegee off.good for seeing what your doing when trad poling(although i only have a couple of these jobs left due to wfp.)

id never go back to fairy now.it leaves far too much sticky residue behind on the windows even with just a drop in ya bucket.
