Lost a £10.00 house yesterday, gained an easier £10.00 house today. Since the begining of September I have had 3 move (10, 5, 15), 2 dumped by me (17,20), 1 dumped me £10 (she got sick of forgetting to leave the gate open as arranged and being charged 60% for the front only).

In the same period I have picked up £17, £7, £7, £12, £11, £10, £12, £12, £15, £20, £10. So for the two months  I am down £77.00 and up £133.00

Since April 2010 (Start of my tax year)

Gross gain £488 every other month, £71 every month

Losses (mixture of moving, death and dropping by me) £80 every other month, £19 every month

Net gain since April £408 every other month, £52 every month.
It's a game of three halves!

No enquiries, all the new ones were watching  neighbours
It finishes about 6. Pop round after that.

If you get a customer say leave it for the winter say "no problem. I'll make the next time first week in Feb.  OK? Bye see you then" and smile

That way when February come round you still have a flippin' customer. You might be glad of her by then.

Its good to put a few customers into hibernation over the winter when the weather is bad and the days are short.

If customers start saying leave it this time, put them on 8 weeks. They are trying to tell you something.

All this macho dumping customers or jacking up their prices is silly.

i dont get any "leave it for the winter" custies apart from a commercial(holiday caravan park).

if anything windows get dirtier with the bad weather!my frequency gets longer in the winter months though from mainly 4 weeks to 5 or 6 weeks due to bad weather and shorter days.

these guys that throw their toys out of there pram because of the odd custy dropping out for the winter will probably not have enough custies or money worries or both.

after a while in this game you learn to go with the flow.

Seems that you win some you lose some. Previously I have mentioned about losing customers over the winter and to redundancy etc.

Well in the last 48 hours i've just picked up 7 new custies bringing in a total of around £1000 p.a. of work. They all approached me - which as you know are better than canvassed custies. Seems that there are people with money out there. Keep at it lads, keep at it.
