« on: November 05, 2010, 08:43:34 am »
Hi

A friend of mine had his van stolen in Rochester yesterday.

It was a Silver Renault Traffic Van REG NO EF56 FDU

It was well sign written . . MD Clean with Blue water graphics across it.

If anyone sees it then please report it to the police

Thanks in advance.

From the other post  I can see this isn't the only one recently.

Sorry to hear that mate

there seems to be a bit of a trend going on two vans in a week,

I wonder if there is any connection ???

do you know if there was alot of valuable kit , ie expensive poles and systems if so it may look like we as a industry are being targeted

Trouble with this is it will if it carrys on start to put up our insurance!

Yeah, had a full system fitted in the back. Prob about £5k worth  :(

It's also the awkwardness of having to work the next day or so without a van. If it's not found then he'll get his insurance money but then you've got all the hassle of finding another van, fitting a sytem etc !

Then as you say our insurances will start to go up.

Matt is that because you have ionic systems or have you fitted your own system
I have built my own and thought it was only if you had an ionic's system ? that you could get a courtesy vehicle

I live in Chatham, so I will let you know if I see it.

Hope you get it back soon.

I suppose there's something to be said for me having a pile of carp with dents in.  No self respecting thief would go near it.
Seriously though, I do wonder if the time is coming when a tracker will be the norm.
Sorry to hear of your loss.

Thanks Guys.

Yeah, Mine's not signwritten but I was seriously thinking about it after all the work my brother's picked up. Might think again now as it's also an advert as to what's inside the van !!

We cover Cliffe Woods down to Herne Bay - I'll ask my lads to keep an eye out (and make sure they keep theirs locked!!)

I have a pro 6 and the serial number is stamped on the frame. Its a bit worrying all these vans being nicked, i also know of a van that has been nicked in the Bedford area a few months ago. The bloke who nicked it was caught on CCTV. The van and system was not recovered i had a long chat with the guy and he told me how good Alexander swan are. He got his Courtesy van the next day, carried on working till his claim was settled. He now has a Tracker fitted paid about £450 then around £180 a year subscription with the middle of the range package.
