Carpet sales

This has been on my mind more and more recently. Do statistics exist regarding carpet sales?

If not what are your personal opinions on the popularity of carpets nowadays, are they rapidly declining or do you think laminate flooring etc has reached its peak?

Be interesting what peoples views on this are.

Laminate sales have been declining for 2-3 years now and carpet has definitely been making a comeback.

Having said that, I have found a huge increase in hard floors generally, marble, porcelain, ceramic etc; for entrance halls and even some reception areas.
