How do I remove Aquaseal from windows
« on: September 29, 2010, 07:47:36 am »
I have a custy who's windows have been covered with Aquaseal overspray.
What is the best way to remove it, any chemicals or sprays recommended?

Thanks

I used WD40 once and elbow grease - worked well.

Aquaseal remover spray. £69.99 for 10ml direct from me only. You'll need about 20ml per window. ;)

Best way is this ...

Mrs. Custy "I've had the builders in (ooh er missus) and they were sealing the walls and have got some aquaseal on my windows what should I do?"

Mr. Windy "Well, madam, to satisfy you properly and thoroughly so that you recommend me to your friends - so that I can do them later - takes a lot of preparation; it's a long hard job that needs a lot of lubrication and steady rhythmic strokes with my blade to get the best results. It will take a lot of time and I haven't got the necessary patience, desire or equipment! - So get the builders back in to finish the job they started and sort you out properly."

It's a game of three halves!

Well thanks for all the assistance - Actually I found a solution and it was not all that expensive. £3.99 a bottle.
Car Plan Tar Remover Cream which goes on goes on like the dreaded Windowlene but with a bit of rubbing does the job without damage to the glass.
Unlike the spray it doesn't get you high when using it up the ladder.

Also unlike the WD40 idea it does not leave an oily film........ it washes off with traditional soap and water.

Like all things the experience took time to learn, so lost a bit of money on the job but had a happy custy.
