Restore Original Carpet Shade
« on: September 27, 2010, 04:19:00 pm »
On a job today, customer asked how to restore the original carpet colour to the 'bleached spots'. She'd spilt make up and then partner blotted with something or other - waiting for confirmation. Make up came out but colour of carpet faded. Is there a way to restore the original beige/cream/stone colour? See pics attached.

Any suggestions, thanks

possibly heat set pens / crayons, set with an iron, but it is an art in itself to get the shade right

does depend on type of carpet as to what success you will have as well

Yes there is a system for bleached carpet repair.

I have not tried it. Its an American Product and it can be shipped over.

cookie cutting is not suitable with a loop pile. You could apply an oxidising agent to a larger area and feather out the lightness.  With a solution like oxibrite-fibrebuff and fibre shampoo you could treat the rest of the carpet as it is cost effective to make larger quantities.
It is difficult to make a judgement from a photo.
