I've always found in winter that the skin on my hands crack, but now i'm finding the same thing happening in summer. It can get quite irritating.
 
I think its the detergent i use that's drying out the skin on my hands. I use ettore squeegee off, its great for cleaning windows, just not so great on my hands i reckon.

i was considering getting some glacier perfect curve gloves to not only keep my hands warm when its cold in winter, but to also protect my hands from the detergent in my bucket all year round.

i wanted to know if any other traditional window cleaners have encountered a similar problem and now also wear neoprene gloves during the summer months.

I always wear a pair of latex (gloves you perverts) to keep my hands clean.
I could never wash out the grime in between the old craggy parts of my skin

I'm on the pole, ["Up it", some say], but I find that since changing from an Aluminium type to an Xtel fibreglass type, that I sometimes get sore hands.

I got some cheap rubber palm/knitted back gloves for three quid from local ironmonger - they soften the blow a bit.

My SLX is full of carbon dust

My 150m  hose needs reeling in... and could be/and is full of anything.

ive never had cracked skin or anything in 16 years of window cleaning(trad).just rub a bit of vaseline in yer hands every couple of days.simple!works for me!

i very rarely wear gloves.only on very cold frosty mornings for about 2 hours

i still have mine on now, not because of the cold, just to keep my hands nice and clean

I always wear nitrile gloves except in winter when I'm wearing something warmer!

Barrier cream, applied regualry should do the trick.

I just couldn't get my hands clean, they just looked permanently grimy. Now I use the marigold outdoor gloves. They are black, so look a little like normal gloves when using them. I just cut them down to wrist level. You can buy them in Morrisons.

Same here mate.Wear them all year through now but I just turn the wrists down.Bloody cold in winter though so I have lining ones inside.

I wear the blue nitrile gloves, they are more chemical resistant than normal gloves.

I've just been to costco and bought there own nitrile gloves got to boxes for the same price I was paying for one in my local supplier.
