connie roof job at another windies custie's house
« on: August 26, 2010, 06:55:25 pm »
Just picked up a connie roof clean as the customers window cleaner doesn't do connie roofs.

She asked me how much I would charge to do the windows.  I asked if she was happy with her window cleaner, which she said yes, so I said I wouldn't give a price as didn't want to pinch someone elses work (wouldn't want it done to me either).

What would you do in this situation?  Price the work anyway or just tell them to contact you if they no longer want their existing cleaner?  Would be interested to hear how you deal with these.

Well if he does not do the roofs and you have been asked do it!

As for the windows you will most likely end up doing them as well.

I had one ask me for a price for windows other week, while i was adding up she starts telling me she got a cleaner at mo who does not use a bucket and just wipes the windows with a cloth and does not do sills, I say are windows cleans and she replies they are, So i say why not stick with him then, To which she says she is not happy with him and wants me to do them. What can i say, I tried to talk her into keeping him and she was not having it, Its her choice who she employs so I am happy to take her money. I never went looking she came to me

what gets me if the a custmer isnt looking to changing thier wc for cost reason
or they have dissapeared or been unreliable - and they want to change because of gripes (why arent they telling that to thier wc so he can do soemthing about it and would that mean if they got you - they would be griping behind your back to another wc in the future if there was something your unaware of and not told by cusotmer.

ie relating to another topic in here .... SILLS

Maybe they have told their window cleaner and he just doesn't listen and carries on as before?  Listen to your custie (they may not be right, but say hey!) and keep them. Don't listen....lose them :)

I've had a situation like that before.  I asked the custie "He only charges you £x and you are trying to get it for less?"  He did a decent job too apparently.  I just told her to look after him and do her best to keep him because she was getting a brilliant deal.  She was gobsmacked.

do the job your not stealing work off him, i have three in one street
i clean their con roofs twice a year i dont go anywhere near the rest of windows
they have a reg cleaner a older chap who they all like who works
off ladders to be honest he does a good job.

no conflict of interest so no problem i have also cleaned fascia and gutters
at one time or another for these people all good money

why cut off your nose to spite your face if you dont have to :)
