Hi Guys as mentioned on the ladder regulations thread wanted to post this to keep topic relevant to subject rather than include in in a diff topic.

I tohught i could do wfp ladderless but as others have said being a wc without them going to prove difficult. Theres always times when i need them to get over a conservatory or onto flat foof and just generally would make life easier. i dont want to be on the roofline with them as i wouldnt have gone into wc coz of the risk and not that confident with ladder use lame as that may sound.

since im 99.9% domestic im really looking at ladders that suit this. what do you think owuld be the most useful and crucial buys?
im thinking a 6ft pointer - one of those with stays at bottom folds in half to becomes a step ladder or straigten it out to go over flat roofs - but also perhaps a small platform ladder anyone use them?

any advice guys and a good 6ft pointer 100quid ok? not sure of prices of others and hay little/much i should be paying.

I got my points 2nd hand off of a retitired wc, cleaned his flat 5 times for free and they were mine!!
Imo points are a must, handy for gates, shops and hard to reach trad windows, if youre not going to use larger ladders much then it depends on the work youre doing i have a trade set of 3.5 ladders that i used for years trad but now as im mostly wfp i use a set of Abru domestic 3.5 as they are so much lighter! and if i need a little step ive got a crate that i nicked from the spa! everyone should have one at least!

I have over 14 years experience on ladders, and light ladders are not what I prefer. I would recommend getting heavy ladders as I feel much more secure on them. Of all the ladders I have used, I like CLOW the best.

I agree thats why i put about heavy ladders for trad work but as Mark will only use them occasionally same as me now i prefer a lighter pair.they only get used to get on the odd garage roof or over a gate, if i was going back to trad for all my 1st storey work then the commercial ladders would come off the roof rack again!

Mark i got mine off ebay 2nd hand i'll look at the spec on the sticker later and put it on here for you
