Well today i did mine and my mums house nether of us have had our windows cleaned for years so you can imagine how bad they were frames going green etc!

Now although they didn't come out too badly there was a fair bit of spotting here and there, i am putting it down to the fact they were so disgusting.

Is this normal and how would you advise i clean places like this today i cleaned frames rinse frames then did windows and rinse windows.

Also spider webs did not help from frames then getting on windows yep they were this bad

Gavin, did you scrub and rinse all the frames before starting on the windows?

As for spiders webs, I get these on 4 weekly cleans, all I do is run my hand across the brush to remove them then carry on as normal.

What setting did you have the flow metre on? and how long did you spend cleaning just the window?

What i did was start at back of house upstairs windows did frame then rinse then window and rinse then next top window frame then rinse window then rinse etc etc should i do the whole hose frames then go back and do windows?

yes i did that with webs but these were not just a few! made a right mess of my brush lol.

Flow meter was about 3 and half

The guy i bought the system from said keep at at 4-5 but it seemed to be chucking out a fair bit of water and didn't want to waist water should i turn it up then?

Turning it up would help, but turning it up would help with speed of cleaning.
I have my flow controller set at 60, my controller is a purefreedom one and goes from 1-100
if your contoller goes up to 10 then have it set at 5-6.

Right Gavin, try scrubbing and rinsing all frames first then go back to the first window and wash just the window, this should give the frame more time to stop running.

Gavin sounds like you just stop cleaning a little too soon. Alternatively your brush could have been to dirty to get the glass spot free.

If you rinse brush off it doesn't matter about the state of the brush.

p.s. Gavin do you rinse with the brush off the glass or on the glass?

There’s a difference matt between a clean brush, fairly clean brush, dirty brush, and a very dirty brush.

You can clean a window in a few seconds with a clean brush without rinsing and you won’t get spotting, try it with a dirty brush!

If you read Gavins post, he rinses! lol
If you rinse with the brush off the window the brush no longer contaminates the window.

Just out of question, I wonder how many guys on here actually soak/clean their brushes at the end of the day.

My method (slow but sure) on first cleans is to clean frames and glass around the whole house, then back to do just the glass again. Oftentimes, there'll be streaks and spots visible on the glass when I start that second clean, which the second clean sorts out.

There might be better advice to come, but that one works 100% of the time for me.

I always rinse with brush off my flow controller goes up to 9 old purefreedom one by looks of it so 4-5 I guess would be about right?
I will try your advise on cleaning all frames first next time I have windows like this and see if it is better.

Dont rush first cleans! work a little harder pays off long term.

Just a question, what sort of frames have you got? Go around with a wet finger and rub the frames to see if any white paint comes off.
It might just be you have milky frames, its a bit early to be learning that lesson but its something you will have to know about eventually.

Ours are upvc white frames and mums were upvc brown frames.

Gavin, I'm a few weeks ahead of you and still learning, but my first cleans are now good. The key is scrub frames all round then go back and do glass only. A 3 bed will take me near an hour on a 1st clean.
