this has been posted on that forum:

Its been a long time since anyone posted a reply, but google takes you here first if you have bluetack on carpets trouble.

I have the answer! And it couldn't be easier.

Just trickle some vegetable oil onto the bluetack and then scrape like mad with the edge of something hard until it magically vanishes. And it does! It takes seconds usually.

My carpets are dark, but if yours are light you may be left with a grease mark? But this may be washed out with carpet shampoo I think.

Anyway, the answer! And I worked it out myself

maybe doug could spread some light on this !?

Steam (handheld steamer) in conjuction with citrus gel works well on a nursery carpet I do.

other than scissors or a paper scraper you'll have to do it the old gelly way like usual ;D ;)

thought  truckmounts are ment to have the heat to melt things like blutac with ease!  ::)

White sprit works with blutac. A cheap alternative anyways. I did a nursery a few months ago and the place was coverd in it!

I've found Prochem Solvall to be effective on Blu-tac in the past.
If there isn't enough time to do the job right,  how do we find the time to go back and do it again when the customer is not happy ?   Do it right the 1st Time.

Craftex Orange gel smells good, works well, and very reasonably priced. We've started selling Clover De-Tak too (works well).
