OMG how do I quote for this ??
« on: July 26, 2010, 10:59:28 am »
looked at a house yesterday, it has gutters above the door frame and 4 individual gutters on each of the roof dormers front and back, all lead lights, approx 50 panes all in all which includes the sides of the house, back of the house has an indoor pool which is housed in what only can be described as a glass conservatory, has approx 37 panes, most around patio window size. They want a quote to clear the gutters, clean the exterior of the gutters, clean all glass house and pool inside and outside, I don't know where to begin, God knows how many bedrooms they have. I thought of listing them all as separate jobs and price respectively for a final figure but if anyone has a better idea I'd like to hear it.

do it on time, how long you think it will take ,say 5 hours then double it, add a bit and hope you get it! jobs like that are a nightmare id say at least £200
bad weather always looks worse through dirty windows

Will you be doing the conny roof if so 5 per panel for that that includes the roof 5£ per metre for gutters ( 5 pound from saddle on gutter to the next saddle).Go around the whole house and do not miss lower gutters the 1 pound per window, 2 pound a French or sliding door, 3 a bay window and add 10 quid for your trouble. It will come to a large amount of money just look him in the eye and give him your price. Its a lot of work.

i would write down 3 prices each on  seperate bits of paper .  one is the lowest you would ever go,two is what you think is the right price for the job  and ,three is a high price .   mix up the 3 bits of paper and close your eyes and whichever one you pick up first is the price you tell the customer . if its the low one, so be it !!
