Hi,
I did my mother-in-laws carpet yesterday. (Fatal, why didn't I listen to the advice re friends & family

).
Anyway, there were 5 medium sized spots on the carpet which were gravy that dripped onto the carpet about 1 yr ago. I initially tried spot treating them but had limited results.
So pre-sprayed the carpet with ENZ-ALL, agitated, then Hot Water Extracted. The mistake I admittedly made was that I went too far with High PH. I used a bit too much Prochem Extraction Plus, but also added too much Prochem Citrus Booster

The carpet has come up ok but the spots, although now more faded, have gone a shade of blue.....

The carpet pile is also a little stiff and brittle, again I guess because I've left the PH too high.
Here's my intended resolution plan - I'd be really grateful for any pointers or advice:-
- Blot treat the blue spots with 50/50 white vinegar/water solution.
- Not use any further prespray on the carpet
- Extract with something non-detergent and PH neutral. Probably going to try out 'Nemesis Super' (thanks to the sample bottle John K sent me!).
What do you think?
The carpet is a horrible straw coloured short loop-pile nylon.
Thanks in advance for any pointers.
