with investment in better machinery, tools, staff and gadgets, my cleaning gets faster, but more importantly, my results get better. and the quicker i can do the job, the cheaper i can be. food for thought.

I've got to agree, not wanting to sound like a "Splash and Dash" merchant, I work so much more efficiently now than I did 12 months ago.

I did a job the other day and picked £150 up for it, I felt like I was robbing them where as a year ago, I'd have felt like a busy fool because the job would have taken 2-3 times as long to do.... :o

Yeah I have revised my prices, some gone up most gone down especially min job charge - much less setting up time with truckmount and much faster cleaning so why not and when you get the higher priced jobs its all the sweeter.  Been doing a lot of commercial lately mainly Rotary but even with prowler been below the £1 per square metre!!!!!!  oooohhhh misssuusss - not that scary really depends how you approach it mentally.   I dont do many £35 jobs tho I will do 1 lounge  or one staircase for that price within a reasonable radius to my base - I am getting far more repeat / referral / recommendations and a typical recent £35 custy recd me to their posh relative. In the same breath I have cleaned two very nice large lounges in the last 6 weeks for £120 and £135 each.

The truth of the matter is I am finally getting to grips with this "running a business" and leaving behind  my day rate job boyo frame of mind...

Anyone can clean a carpet - its makin the bloody fone ring thats the hard thing!  lol, not...

All the best chaps

Now these are the comments of people who have a " Business Head "  on their shoulders and are NOT afraid of hard work..............they will be successful.

For the past couple of years the forum's been full of Cowboys / Con Merchants who only want to work for one maybe two jobs a day so that they can " enjoy their leisure time " achieved by ripping people off with unbelievable charges.

They try to convince everyone that THEY are the TRUE BUSINESSMEN and everyone else would be better stacking shelves.

Good comments from Colin, Derek and Stu
