Incentive from letting agent
« on: June 19, 2010, 08:49:55 pm »
Hello everyone,

Yesterday I was at a letting agent who give me regular work and they said if I get some of the private landlords I work for to rent their properties through them they will give me £200 per new property. Has anyone else experienced this and maybe split the difference with the landlord? The LL they want has 12 properties which would make me 2.4k. They're a good letting agent too.

Be interested to hear other peoples thoughts.

Thanks,

David

unless i'm reading this wrong I don't know what you'd want us to say tbh. if you think the la is a good one and you know someone who is looking for a la then recommend them :) not much else to talk about

Why would you want to split the money with the landlords, just mention to them that you do a lot of work for this particular letting agent and you can personally recommend them.  That way you get all the credit.  Letting agents typically get 10 - 12 % managment fee plus/or one months rent when they let a property.

If you really believe they are good, then recommend them, works on two fronts, one you get commission, two they are more likely to give you more work.

My mate has 15 properties and manages them himself. I would guess that the person who has the 12 properties can also manage them on their own and wouldn't pay someone else to do it for them. It would cost them too much of there profit especially if they know people who can do repairs on the cheap.
