As a mark of respect to Andy
« on: June 05, 2010, 11:21:01 pm »
I would like to suggest that there is no posts on Monday as a mark of respect for the funeral of Andy Alcock. I would like to think it would be our way of paying our respects to someone that will be sorely missed in our industry.

That's a nice sentiment Bob.  I won't be posting because I'll be up at the funeral.  However, I fear that such a silence would be inevitably broken, due to the sheer amount of users on here and not everyone will have heard of Andy or understand the significance of such a request.

I fear it may just end up with people snapping at each other.  Certainly not what Andy would have wanted.  I'm worried that we'd be setting ourselves up for a fall.

However having said that, I'm sure that all of us who wish to acknowledge the significance of the day will respect a voluntary silence.

Just my thoughts :)

Yes it's a nice idea perhaps the moderators would post a message and may be lock the carpet cleaning forum. I'm away on my holidays so won't be attending but I hope the weather is fine and everyone has a safe journey.
