Brodex - Caution if buying resin from
« on: May 24, 2010, 04:52:58 pm »
On wednesday morning just about to start work tested my water tds and it was way over. So as I had ran out of resin went and and didn't work that day.
Usually I have it in stock ready but was waiting for DAQUA to get the Tulsion MB-115 back in stock (they still don't have it in yet).

Well as I was desperate decided to ring Brodex (even though I felt all the time it was a stupid idea).
Spoke to some lad there, was quite pleased when they said had Tulsion resin and at only £63, .a couple of pounds more than DAQUA. Explained how I was desperate and he said "you'll have by tomorrow no problem" and said that'll come to £63 + VAT (actual price was said as £62 + pence).

Well shock doesn't arrive the next day, so ring them back they say can't understand that will just check if sent and ring you back -- - - no surprise never called me back!!

The resin arrived just before dinner on Friday.
Checks my bank and Brodex have taken out £95.12!!!

Then come to put resin away and notice its the Tulsion MB-111 sold by DAQUA as an inferior resin to the 115 and sold by them for £51 see on link http://www.daqua.co.uk/resins.htm

Not happy ring Brodex, complain about price of £95 first and they say oh it's postage (DAQUA dont charge extra for postage). Then mention about it being the cheaper Tulsion resin and have this lad trying to sound assertive and knowledgeable telling me it's exactly the same if not even better, and let him know he's talking rubbish and politely get off the phone.

So again I have to learn stupidly the same lesson again - dealing with Brodex will always leave you feeling let down, out of pocket and patronised . .. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Is that your rant over.   ;D
I do feel for you though, nothing worse than feeling riped off. :(
I can remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing.

I tried to order from them the other week and realised I was speaking to a chimp, so I phoned another company for Dowex MB50 they delivered next day.

Yes it was Wintecs.
I used to buy Dowex MB50 from a company up North, at just over 40 pounds per bag, I have just e-mailed them to see prices now. Should hear tomorrow.
They were also cheap for 4040 membranes.

If so I stand corrected.
Would be a good idea to buy up from DAQUA as said they are selling MB-111 for £48 as opposed to £61 for the MB-115 both 25 litres.
They mustn't be as in the know as you Josh

i just asked doug from daqua and this was his reply

I'm not sure where he gets this information from but MB-115 and MB-111 are both totally different resins with MB-111 being a lower spec. The history behind MB-111 is this was specifically designed for the Korean market as Tulsion were losing customers to another company who were selling resin at a lower price. They then decided to make a lower grade resin to get their market share back. There is no way they have swapped or changed the name of MB-115.

he also added that he has written specs on the two resins to back this up, and this is why he sells the other stuff at a lower price

thanks for that, i knew they would be aware of the facts. seems brodex are trying to convince otherwise and charging extra.
just hope no one else lets them rip them off.

Waiting . . . . . .. still no apology!
Just got the invoice from Brodex today, and on that it lists the resin they sent as Purolite MB400! what goes on at that place?

Hello 4Seasons,

As far as I am concerned, it is getting more and more typical of Brodex letting people down.

But I will say this they do supply well built tank systems.

Just poor customer service! ::)

Regards.

I think everyone should give this company a wide berth. They are very poor at servicing customers but very good at taking money. These are classic examples of greed.
