Title: what roof tower or powered access for narrow area

hi guys i'm quoting to do a roof clean, i need access five metres up to clean two sides of the roof thing is the floor areas are quite narrow, one is only 1.2 metres wide (i think I'm consigned to work off a ladder) the other side is 2.1 metres wide. front and rear is fine , just the sides giving me ag. any suggestions ? many thanks, Richard

You won't get a spider lift down the width you are talking about, it needs about 2 metres either side for the legs.

If it's flat/level a scissor lift will do it but have you a IPAF license or you won't be insured?

Tower is the answer if you can get hold of a narrow one.

A small mewp should fit down 1:2 meters ,

scissor lift is the only thing that I know of that would fit a gap that wide

I haven’t personally used one that narrow but if you google them they are available , cannot remember how high they went though

thanks for your answers everyone. think it'll be the tower, although to get to roof edge wouldn't i need outriggers for stability?

Yes I would use outriggers they should come with the tower if you hire it just ask .

Assuming you have the room to put them out, or get permission to tie the tower to the wall like sky have to when installing a satelite dish
