A double electric under blanket on medium setting draped over wands and machines will avoid a frozen pump etc. Use a low power extension lead and door will close if wire exits from corner - check cable for damage regularly and you should save yourself some expense. Put a reminder note on the dash though, just to be safe 😉

I bought one of these a few months back, once I get some time I will fit it in my van. It a diesel 12v hot air heater. I’ve tried it and the heat is really good,

This was off Facebook market place cost me £80, but you can buy new ones for around £100

I got one similar Mike , works very well the low setting is around 5c so in an insulated van it used less then £5 last winter ( only used on the colder nights from 10pm to 6 am. Also van Nicky defrosted each morning

Do they give off any diesel fumes / smell

That’s the only bad thing you need to drill/cut 2 x 1 inch holes in your van floor. 1 for a fresh air intake the second one for a exhuast pipe.
There is no smell the burnt fuel and the hot air blown into the van are totally separate

liquid antifreeze for me , through machine , hoses , tools .. ... when its cold enough .

Mike how long / hours doe's it last before you have to refill with diesel

From reading the Facebook groups dedicated to these heaters 3lts a night to keep a camper van comfortable to sleep in, but to protect a van from freezing must be much less.
Mine has a 5lt tank I would think this would las 3 nights
