Title: printer problems.......
Post by: dazmond on August 31, 2021, 06:50:14 pm
ive had a canon printer for many years and it works fine with my old windows 10 laptop, its never missed a beat!however the laptop needed replacing so i bought a chromebook a few months ago....i just cant get it to work with the printer so i bought a hp envy 6000 series and it works fine at my missus house connected to wi fi and my chromebook but its printing misaligned when connected to usb(i dont have wi fi in my flat)for some reason esp when printing invoices, statements of account..... ::)roll

and then tonight it wouldnt print at all(paper jam error)no paper was jammed, ive tried everything to get it working including resetting the printer twice, cleaning the rollers,etc...i nearly threw the crappy thing out of the window!the manual has 135 pages!WTF?

so ive gone back to my old trusty printer and windows 10 laptop for now...

any suggestions for printers that work with chromebooks from the off?

i need a good solid reliable printer......

Honestly my printer just broke aswell.  Spent 4 hours trying to fix it.  Gave up.

3 days later it randomly started working.

I hate printers so much.  Every single printer i've used at some point has stopped working multiple times.  Thats cheap and expensive printers.

I cba.....

You can normally run an alignment check. Have you done this?

My HP printer sometimes keeps saying out of paper, when it’s not ( naughty printer!)
I found turning everything off and rebooting was the answer.

Epson ET-2600 buy the ink bottles for £7 equivalent to 20 printer toner catridges at £26 a time, no comparison. Cheaper printer initially isn't as cost effective as a more expensive printer with cheaper ink bottles to refill.

Drivers?  Sounds like driver issue, uninstall driver, try installing different driver.

I swapped over to a laser printer many years ago. They are the best, no wasting of ink each time to clean the nozzle etc.
They really are brilliant. About every 2/3 years I buy a set of compatable  toners. Never lets me down, prints within seconds always top quality. And it’s a duplex printer so will print both sides. Ink jets are a bit of a pain.
