Anyone got/getting gvs predator or industrial?
What’s your opinions?
On those using these vacs and company?
Trust pilot reviews look 👀 good
Read an old post of smudges saying their carbon poles were good quality 👍
Thanks lee
-
the newer vacs on offer look good quality - trolley looks to be well built - this tends to be the bit that falls apart
I have to say I am not a fan of trying to slag off the opposition - especially when your conducting the test against your own products
- find some one independent and proper controlled tests to show your better

I have to say I am not a fan of trying to slag off the opposition - especially when your conducting the test against your own products
Understand what your saying 👍
They all do it 😯
At least this has some weight
Rather than the, our is better nah nah.....nah nah nah 😁
I think the big takeaway here is the price Difference
The predator is £1200 cheaper than the SkyVac and seems to be better in tests
As you say smudge not independent tests
But the gvs industrial is not much behind the skyvac
With 30 ft carbon poles and sure side entry cyclonic upgrade entry port £926 incl vat
Maybe an alternative to skyvac atom,
for those looking for something with a bit more power 🤔
If you go on YouTube and watch gutter vacuum systems video playlist it’s quite interesting
Surprised to see the lightness of the alloy poles 😮
-
I think splash and dash has the ultimate skyvac machine - that really is a class above everything,
Having said that - we gutter vac domestics nearly every day, and have large commercial works on average once a fortnight - 8 years I used the omnivac - never really had problems getting stuff out, just like the video if you can get a good seal on th muck it will pull out (no matter how powerful your not getting that down the pipe!) I now buy £140 3000 watt vacs put a side entry on and they match the omnivac - if the things go t!ts up just get a new one - it's cheaper and easier than changing a motor
Would something costing a grand or more do any better, possibly but the average house front and back is done in 30 mins or less - where would I save time ? 3 to 5 mins ? Those brutes would take longer to unload take more van room and be heavier on fuel
The trolley is a vital part - you travel over a lot of rough ground when vac'ing - those little casters last about six weeks if your lucky
I like GVS - local to me and a decent guy

Thanks very much for the honest info
Smudge.
Have you got any links for your new budget setup?
Please 🙏 😁
I’m guessing a maxibllast 3000 watt vac
Where from 🤔
Then side entry port and tools from
Gutter vac systems
What about a camera smudger? Go pro.
Where are the gvs couple from London or Essex? They don’t sound like Norfolk folk to me 😁
never thought I’d hear you say that about gutter vac setup.
No sarcasm meant, I know you’re a big fan of the omni vac.
Believe you bought second hand of your brother in-law.
It’s earnt it’s money 💰 and then some I bet.
-
Omni was brought off father in law approx 10 years ago - I hate to think the miles of gutters its cleared
I'll find some links for you
ive never spoken to mark ( im sure thats his name ) ut emailed a few times
Darran
-
this is the vac I use now ( 2 of them ) they have run without fault for a good while now
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wido-3000W-Double-Vacuum-Cleaner/dp/B00OTR6QIK
side entry from either grippa ( if in stock ) - streamline - or other vac suppliers
get god quality hose - I use this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wido-3000W-Double-Vacuum-Cleaner/dp/B00OTR6QIK
very rugged and long lasting
Darran
-
Thanks Darrran.
I like your new website 👍
You’ll probably say it’s 3 years old 😁
-
I have a GVS machine and its brilliant.
Said it before and will say it again Sky vacs are well overrated and over priced.
-
Not used them
But like darren says you can buy a 3000w vac for less than £200 and if you look around you`ll find the side entry what they all sell for £50 or more for about £20 or so.
Why would you pay more ???
-
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Industrial-Vacuum-Cleaner-Wet-Dry-Vac-Extra-Powerful-Stainless-Steel-80L-3000W/264615461268?epid=7031190076&hash=item3d9c4f8194:g:GooAAOSwreFfBHmT
I have the 40ft pole set of this company and that vacume above
I put 2 inch hose on it and you find a big difference in suction unfortunately its carpet machine hose and you can only buy it in 50 ft lengths so I cut it down anyway I like this company lets hope they dont stop trading suddenly and leave us with no spare parts like the
Un named one who just closed down disappeared and left me with a snapped pole and no contact
So I deal with with these people now
Huh what goes around comes around good luck to them
-
Got the gvs red top 3600w with the carbon poles and honestly can’t fault it... Julia and mark at GVS are second to none when it comes to customer service.
I’m regards to there beef with spina I believe there’s been a bit of an ongoing feud since spina made the factory they got there original gvs vac manufactured stop selling it to them for what ever reason. So think the comparison video was a bit of FU... either way a bit of healthy competition never hurt anyone :D
GVS vacs get my vote all day long.
-
Thanks very much smudger for links
Only just seen
Don’t know how I missed earlier 🤦♂️
Funny I came across that vac on Amazon 👍
-

SB
Did you go for one of GVS packages?
I’m happy to spend up to a £1000
Want 3000 watt vac carbon poles up to 30 ft
But it started to get expensive looking at predator nearly £1800 😮
-

True Gomo
If a decent saving 👍

Thanks for link for max blast
Good price 👍
Is the company that disappeared also in Norfolk?
I think GVS equipment looks superior to them 🧐

Thanks Spud 🥔👍
What did you pay 💰🤭if you don’t mind me asking
As said looking 3000 watt vac
Carbon poles 30 ft
Will part with £1000
Was tempted by SkyVac atom
But stumbled on GVS by accident looking for the other Norfolk gutter vac company
That doesn’t seem to have a website now 😯
-
Prob sound like a broken record lads but ive a nilfisk maxi 11 alto. Are the machines you are showing smudge and others more powerful than mine?
-
Totally agree on the trolleys tho ive replace both front wheels on mine and had to do handle diy repair recently to gutter vac itself which is clearly a weak point on machine in hindsight.

iam not sure whare they are lee its 3 years ago when i dealt with them i know his first name was nick thats it iam done ???
anyway if you get the maxiblast remember to saw off the attachement inside the drum or you will get blockages its a bit small
if you need cmor power put a 2 inch hose on it
https://www.clean-smart.co.uk/store/2-vacuum-hose-x-50ft/
https://www.clean-smart.co.uk/store/2-vac-hose-barb-connector-con3/
i dont use the hose supplied with the maxiblast i use the above just jam the hose barb into the machine port and the 2 inch onto that and then the other end fits perfectly onto there pole end fitting cuff 2 inch hose is a bit cumbersome but you get a lot a vac boost wiith it i only use 2 vacs normally but for big sods its no poroblem even with hose maxiblast supply its powerfull enough i just thought i would try some 2 inch carpet hose and i stuck with it
good luck anyway
-
[/but for big sods its no poroblem quote] 😀
Thanks a lot for links mjm
Sounds like a really good setup you have there 👍

All in after was £1550 seems like a lot but like any business purchase it’s an investment mate. 2 months in and it’s pretty much paid for itself already.
Had a smaller 1600w vac before which just didn’t cut the mustard as the jobs were getting bigger. So after ALOT of shopping around and plenty of back and forths eventually I bit the bullet And honestly it’s a great investment.
If you have any questions just drop Julia or mark a message and they’ll help you out with exactly what you need.

I have had an omnivac for 10 years very good vac , I now have the skyvac interceptor as we do a lot of large commercial and I got fed up humping a genie round all the time it looks big and bulky but is easy to move around and get in and out the van on your own if you don’t have employees ,it isn’t cheap though at 5 k but for us it was paid for with a couple of large jobs , if I was in the market for a mains powered vac after seeing the video of the gvs vac I would seriously look at it as it does appear to be very good , (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1594158725_A2547935-1567-45A1-8996-EA3391DE35DA.jpeg)(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1594158725_C2882951-0E4B-43D4-95C4-D77560D48D27.jpeg)(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1594158724_A9CCF22E-C42F-4401-8962-6A5170FFC0B3.jpeg)

😮 that’s impressive splash 😮
You say you can get that in and out of van on your own 💪
Id want an armed guard when using that 😁
Frightened I’d get a wallop over the back of the head for that beauty 😍

Spud 🥔
Meant to ask
Do you plug into customers mains?
I was going to.
Is 3600 watt ok to do that, thinking it must be if 240 volts 🤦♂️Duh 😁
If so do any customers moan your using their electric
Can’t be more than a couple of quid for say an hour I’d imagine 🤔
Thanks lee

One thing I’ve noticed
On GVS silicone bend, the bit that goes on top off poles and holds tools.
It’s 35 degree angle only
Other companies supply another silicone bend that’s a tighter angle too this shape “n”
Like lower case n
Idea is if in a narrow area you can still get top pole in gutter
Has this been a problem
Or does supplied silicone bend.....,,.,bend ?😀
Thanks lee

Plug straight in to the customers property, never had an issue and they’re always more than happy to supply a power point to run an extension lead

The silicone bend is rigid enough To deal with tuff blockages and also moves to access all different angles.
I had a rigid neck on my previous set up and actually prefer the silicone neck as you can get gutter from every angle rather than a solid set neck which limits you on angles

GVS all the machines at the moment are out of stock.
is this normal

Thanks very much 🥔 spud 👍
For your help.
Just doing some maths
A cheap 3000 watt wido wet dry vac smudger recommended £210
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WET-AND-DRY-VAC-VACUUM-CLEANER-INDUSTRIAL-80L-LITRE-3000W-CARWASH-HOOVER-Wido-/331992974424
GVS new lightest aerospace poles 25 ft with tools and bag £199
https://www.guttervacuumsystems.co.uk/product/worlds-lightest-aluminium-gutter-cleaning-pole-kit-25ft/
Heavy duty extension reel £72
https://www.guttervacuumsystems.co.uk/product/230v-3600w-heavy-duty-extension-reel/
**# cyclonic inlet upgrade kit 51mm & 5metres Hose £126
https://www.guttervacuumsystems.co.uk/product/cyclonic-inlet-upgrade-complete-kit/
Total so far £607
Bit I’m not sure on is the cyclonic upgrade kit
Which marries wet dry vac I’ve shown to poles.
Also I know ally poles not perfect but video
On New aerospace 25 ft ally poles shows Julie (is it ?)
Lifting complete ally pole setup one handed!
They recommend not adding anymore poles
To this set as pole wall thickness is thinner
But 25 foot is enough for most houses up to 2 storey and above conservatories
Have I missed anything anyone🤔
Many thanks lee
Thanks for all your advice everyone
Raining on and off today not been out yet 🤦♂️
Today would be a perfect gutter clearing day or half day 😁💰
-
Hello Swanson
Yes noticed this
Maybe because of new predator vac and vac below being upgraded as standard to 51 mm
Side entry
They’ve sold out
States somewhere on website that pandemic has halted supplies
Guess all made in 🇨🇳 China
They have the Nisflik in stock but only seem to show with ally poles 🤔

Camera mount £8
https://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/alloy-camera-mount.html
Camera, link courtesy of one of you guys 👍
Not sure if it screws into gardiner mount🤔
£30
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Campark-ACT76-Action-Camera-4K-Ultra-HD-WiFi-Waterproof-Sports-Cam-DV-Camcorder-/152817230740
Still under £650
-
I think I will ring them.
Perhaps you have to pre order.
-
We (GVS) had to pull the video over trademark infringement following solicitor correspondence. At no point in that video which we released put down the competitor's vacuum and in fact did highlight the great IPC trolley that they use.
The video was created in response to us introducing the Predator on a previous video where we asked Facebook followers to name absolutely any mains powered machine to put up against the Predator.
Any vacuum by any supplier.
The majority chose the one that we ran with. We ran fair out of the box, 'this is what you get' tests which anyone with the vacuums can do themselves. We also offered at the end of the video to run the tests live on Facebook too prior to the solicitors letter.
The vacuums have suffered slight delays with our requested adaptions and of course the pandemic has held up things a little too, understandably not ideal but they're on their way, so I guess time will tell with customer forming their own opinions.
I'm new to this forum, I'm used to the other social media avenues, or calls etc so bear with me as I get used to what is permitted and what isn't permitted here as I don't wish to be seen to be using this as advertising. But I'm happy to answer any questions on equipment or offer advice if that's allowed.

I got the red top 3600 off gvs last month before the announced the predator.. the gvs was made in the same place as sky vac , the camera system i got is identical in every single way . Not made in same factory anymore though.. i got the carbon poles , an extra pole , camera system and screen , 2 brackets for the camera , a reducer for internal bits to attach and got all this for nearly 2 grand cheaper than the sky vac i was literally about to order... plus if you join the window cleaning alliance you get a discount off gvs limited of either 10 or 20% i can't remember , I got £200 ish off anyway. I've done 3 gutter vacs a day on average for the last 4 weeks and its been fantastic... my only fault with it is the suction release thing on sky vac for when you get a big sod stuck on the end is not on the gvs poles as its patented , you can turn off and back on but its a myther , so I drilled 2 x 35mm holes , 1 in top of 1 pole and one in bottom that line up when I twist them . This then releases blockage to the ground.. hands down the best money I've spent on any equipment and the lady , Julia I think she was called was brilliant to talk to , helpful beyond reason and Lee the guy was great too with everything from contact , delivery etc.. just a brilliant firm ;D
-
wow - look at that less than six minutes for someone to join and praise GVS ;D ;D
Julia - welcome to the forum - I think you'll be ok answering direct questions regarding your own kit
I would consider making a solid swan neck and adding it to your inventory - they really do make gutter vac'ing so much easier
Darran
-
Thank you for the welcome Darran
The reason we have silicon at the moment is we've always personally found them rigid enough to poke away at bigger lumps and flexible enough to reach at different angles. Though we do listen, and we have rigid options to add to the range currently in development :)
-
Sounds good !!
Darran
-
A mate of mine has a Sky Vac Atom base unit for sale £150. It has the flexible tube but no poles.
-
Has anyone ever upgraded the wheels on their trolleys? It would be a big improvement for me to have more ‘rugged’ wheels that can go over grass and gravel easier
-
still using my ommivac that i brought off someone on here many years a go,think about 10 years
came with gardiners poles 60ft of them and it never let me down, put a few new wheels on it,
i paid £500 for the lot and its earned god know what,i do wonder what i get if it ever broke to bits,so this is a good read :)
-
Yes I put 6 inch wheels on mine - made a big difference - unfortunately after 5 years the plastic part of the trolley has now snapped
so I made these....
