You will all be moaning come Friday
When it’s cloud and rain.

I’d planned it well.
£210 office clean in the early morning, then 4 £25 houses. Was home before 11am.
If everyday was like that I’d be laughing.

but tomorrow I just might
drunk pints upon pints and only peed once
-
Lockdown, innit?
The government are paying us to stay home and watch Loose Women. Why risk your life by going out and going out into the sun?
Corona and the sun are both killers.

That's a hell of a long day........esp in this heat......do you have young employees?or are you just inefficient and take 8 hours to clean work that some of us could clean in 5?

I think he means "Black Mountain" - if it matters, Griff.
It is a weighty subject. ;)
-
I dont know how any of you can work more than 5 or 6 hours (at the most)day to day cleaning windows...maybe it's because I'm 48 now....I lose interest once I get to my income target for that day.....
-
This time last week it was heavy rain here all day......I sacked it off after an hour!
-
Your just getting old daz. 8)
Me and my wife worked 8am to 5:30 with a quick 20 minute lunch.
Cracking earning day and we will probably take Friday off.
I never understand these short work days Some people want. I’d much rather have full days and then take time off at the end of the week.

Your in your 30s though mate.......I'd rather work short days and work an extra day in the week than longer days....I'm 50 next year!plus I've got other interests outside work(weight training and playing drums)which are both physically demanding........

I’m a young’un and I agree, 4/5hrs a day 3/4 days a week is plenty for me.

Half 10 and Im considering going home

-
Day off for me today. Not gonna bother sweating it out when this heatwave is dying off from Saturday anyway...
-
I can’t do windows in it !
Didn’t work yesterday or today as I only managed 3 houses on Tuesday :o
I believe I have found the side effect since the stroke in 2015 !
My workshop turned up yesterday so I’m painting that in the shade before putting it all together, I ended up changing the size as I realised at the last minute that I wouldn’t be able to get out the gate ::)roll ::)roll ::)roll
Tig welder came too , I can feel a change of job coming on ;)

Depends what your target is and if your snowed under with work!
It has been difficult though , I found myself working slower to preserve energy

It's horrible, I can't stand it. Feel like killing someone 😅
Doing this next one then off to McDonald's and see how I feel after that. I bet I go home.
-
You’ll go home Adam, you know it ;D
-
Breakfast outside this morning, off up the river soon, then a beach walk with the dog later this afternoon.👍
Work smarter not harder!!😬😁
-
That's enough for me I'm off home. Enjoy ;D ;D

I’m still painting and wishing I had gone to work

Maybe he does a decent job and doesn't splash and dash, or he might want to earn a decent wage??
-
i worked 9am-2pm(30 mins for lunch) so 4 and a half hours again......thats plenty of time in this heat to earn a good days wedge....
its by far the worst weather to work in IMO.....its like a form of slow torture,i found it very uncomfortable to work in it at times today......
also lots of my customers are still at home!cars everywhere!windows wide open, lots of customers in their gardens! ::)roll ;D
AND my pet hate!PLANTS IN FRONT OF WINDOWS!why the hell do some customers do it?not just one or two either!literally LOADS OF THEM!in some gardens there is very little room to walk about............utterly insane......

Proper wilderness! We use to put parties on near there, Think there’s a round for sale near Ystradgynlais, if you’re brave enough.....

the problem is when you work long days like that you inevitably end up knocking off early the next day(or the day after)cos your knackered so your no better off than the guys condensing their work into shorter days and pacing themselves....
you forget ive been window cleaning a long time and ive done it all in my 27 years in this game! :)

good luck with that then mate.......i simply couldnt stomach working more than 20-25 hours a week these days (actually physically cleaning windows)..thats enough for me at 48 years of age....

I have been window cleaning 21 years , and no we don’t take the next day off we work the same every day of the week the guys love all the bonus at the end if the month . I thought you were a tough guy all that gym workouts 😂😂😂😂 but obviously not 😂😂😂. Ime also in the Fireservice and out on shout 3-4 times most nights , done that for 33 years , just got to crack on and do what’s needed , once all this lock down is finished hopefully by the middle of next year I will be taking more time off work but at the moment I dont fancy going abroad on holiday so making the most of working flat out now . Then next year will be away more than Ime home 😂😂😂😂
-
Latest I've ever work was 5. Once.
Felt like commuting suicide...
no idea how anyone has the stomach to work 8 hour days 5 or 6 days a week in this game, its boring as feck and hard work to boot. I mean yeh great money but whaf use is it when you can hardly move when you get home.
5 or 6 hours a day for 4 days a week feels like a slog to me.

i couldnt do it...seriously........hats off to you at your age...... :)
-
Daz, you’re slipping, you forgot to put up how much you earned today!
-
lifting weights in the gym is nothing to do with being a "tough guy" for me....its pure vanity and so my missus still wants to f**k me.....the plus points as well is it keeps my bones strong as im growing older and keeps my muscles in good shape....im disappointed the gyms are not opening soon but i can still get a workout done at home with the weights i have here but its not quite the same!

Daz, you’re slipping, you forgot to put up how much you earned today!
oh sorry dave....£210 today.....so by the end of tomorrow ill have earned around £1100 for roughly 22 hours work..im happy with that.....
-
I’d planned it well.

Ha ha ha ha 🤣🤣 yeah thanks goodness for Air Con never have a van without it,due to having it you can carry on earning it gives you a refresh between jobs.
-
I’ll post a picture later to prove that I’ve got it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

i agree.....i have to manage my energy levels...i only have a certain amount of energy day to day and if im working long hours 5 or 6 days a week im fit for nothing in the evening time/weekends........
also i work much more efficiently working less hours....it sounds contradictory but when I have a set "window" of say 5 or 6 hours to clean my work i crack on and get it cleaned without getting too bored/fed up of it all.....
it works for me anyway......
another bonus is its a lot easier to keep to my schedule when im not trying to cram in loads of jobs into a work day...i like routine and predictability..i thrive on it.....
-

ive never been snowed under with work (since my trad days which was over 10 years ago now)......the best work strategy for me is short, productive days(no more than 5 or 6 hours actually window cleaning per day)otherwise i feel tired and fed up with cleaning which can encroach on my free time/personal life.....
the beauty of working for yourself is you can shape your hours to suit your lifestyle which is exactly what i do.....

I have a ford transit custom limited, with air con and all the other gubbins.
Unfortunately I can’t work whilst sitting I the van.
-
No but you feel a little bit better when you get having cooled off though I expect,I know I do.
-
Took the day off yesterday and went and did a big 11 mile hike around Buttermere in the Lakes, was lovely and cool up on the fell tops, a nice cooling breeze. Followed by a nice swim in the lake.
Weather is a bit cooler today so back to it.
-
I’ve cherry picked stuff this week it’s too hot to be out working in it for too long, long as you ain’t starving the work will be there next week.

You’re a strange one nige.

all my scheduled work for the week has been completed as usual........when you work 20-25 hours a week it doesnt matter how hot or wet the weather gets you can still get it cleaned 9 times out of 10......
-
I do the same Daz, around 4-5 hours a day ;D
Mind you, I do clean some commercial stuff at the weekends. Not that I have to, I just prefer to do them when no ones there.
My hours as a window cleaner are ludicrous. My neighbours all think I’m lazy as I’m hardly at work. Always back for around 12-1pm.
I used to go to the gym at 2pm everyday (untill lockdown) and cant think of one occasion I’ve not made it down there by 2pm.
What a life is windys have 👍🏼
-
It’s still hot to work in Air Con or not but it does give you another lease of life throughout the day.

whats wrong with window cleaning part time?i never wanted to work a full time job anyway even when i was in my 20s and 30s.......its just it was necessary to make enough money to live on at one time.........not anymore thank god! :D :D
-
That's the problem with you Northeners, sun comes out for 5 minutes and you're complaing it's too warm..
-
lovely window cleaning weather today, overcast with drizzle
I`ll take that any day over the 30 degrees of last week.
-
Best months for earning and having plenty of energy I find are September October till end of March
