Quite a surprise, I thought Lee might be ok being domestic?
-
Respect to him 👍

I think his business model makes it more difficult for him than the average sole trader, we can be more flexible.
All his customers are on go cardless and he has lower margins, easier for us to respond to customers on more of an individual basis if necessary.
Also being an employer government aid is available to his business, so it is probably easier to temporarily close.

Window cleaning is very low risk. It's not zero though. It's also very difficult to run a business when every time any of your staff coughs they need to be off for a fortnight.

Pryors reopened yesterday.

Surprised he hasn't been on the forum this week. He usually keeps us updated on his business matters

Crikey! That changed quick 😮

We closed on Tuesday after the unclear message of Monday nights speech. We will re open Monday as it is now clear that we can in fact work in line with government advice. We will continue until the guidelines change to saying we cannot work. I will add that I respect both groups of people here in their own choice to work or not. Everyone's situation is different and for now the phrase do the right thing means different things to different people.
-
I’d be going back to work if i was having to find 50 odd grand a month in wages and expenses.
-
good on you for re opening that unclear message on Mondays speech must have cost a lot of people a few quid!
i bet you're still getting first cleans calling from leaflets loads of people will be noticing their windows these days lol
-
While being closed this week I was in the office alone trying to get my head round it and every call I answered was a customer asking when we are coming or wanted to book something extra or asking why we are shutting. At the same time my team all wanted to work. Until the government remove my choice to be open (which they haven't) we will be open.

Now that is a very good notice on his website.

I’ve not had 1 customer say to me what do you think you are doing working they’ve all been supportive and the same thing,as long we keep our distance that’s all we need to do.
It’s my customers that are carriers anyway because this is looking like it’s a posh virus 🤣🤣🤣🤧

4000 people dead yesterday. 3000 so far today.
They were all posh though.

I am working with Ray Mears and Bear Gryills I’m so far out the way I’m having to eat berries and rub sticks together to keep warm, like I say I’ve got more chance catching this in a dirty shop when I’m getting a few bits to eat with my Mrs.

Your opinion has more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie novel.
Cabin fever at all mate?

Probably bricking it with the thought of paying out all those staff wages and expenses with no income coming in an understandable fear for any business of that size at least being window cleaning he has the option of being allowed to go to work.
Organising the guy's arriving & leaving the unit without coming 2 metres within each other must be a logistical nightmare I should think.

I wish the public knew we were allowed.
