pre spray and agitate then rinse with acidic rinse ? or put cleaning chemical straight in your tank and clean

There are different opinions on this .
It might depend on what you intend to prespray and what you put into your tank .
Personally i always have a bit of ultimate master powder in the tank , i would feel im not getting a proper result without it .
I never use an acid rinse .
I generally use alltec citrus prespray on both carpet and upholstery ... ultimate master powder intank .

Done an EOT for a pal who was moving out of his digs the other week. The carpets looked fine but he's got a cat and had to get them cleaned and I was doing it for heehaww . Mixed three scoops of F90 in a 25 litre container of hot water, psi on Airflex at 300,Magma heater full blast and got great results. Horses for courses
