Title: buying a 2nd hand IBC water storage. quick Q
Post by: Richard iSparkle on October 09, 2019, 10:12:16 pm
Hi,

just trying to pickup a 2nd hand IBC. it says it was previously used for storing water based resin

is likely to be ok for me to store pure water, or might the previous resin contaminate it?

obviously I'll wash it before use but still...

Got one you can have for free that’s only stored purewater
Needs picking up from Birmingham

Pretty much anything will clean out of these things,  but it could be a hard job depending what it is.

Resin sounds like it could be a “syrupy” mixture. You might need a few bottles of virosol And then about 4000 litres of water to rinse it through till
It’s pure.

I’d look for a different one to be honest. There’s plenty around.

Yeah any tank should do. My ibc was used for storing fake tan mixture, just disinfected with citrus it and jet washed it out let it dry and it was good to go.

got mine from a laundry place, it had washing powder inside, still smells of washing powder lol and without a pressure washer it took a lot of rinses to clean it
