Title: Flow controller fixing
Post by: combat1 on August 18, 2019, 09:29:37 pm
Just bought a digital flow controller from Gardiners.
How do you guys fix these onto side panel or tank housing?
There are some holes in the back of the unit but its a sealed case and waterproof- don’t want to mess it up before we start!
Superglue / velcro?
Thanks

Undo the four screws on the front, lift it off and screw it to whatever you want (obviously not the tank!). Refit the front cover.

Velcro is a good idea, that's what came with my new inline tds meter.

Double sided tape also works.

I got some from our local hardware store and it sticks like crazy.

😂😂  the cheek!  I've only used it to hold my volt meter up.
But don't knock it!  Watch Matt Damon film "martian"  he used it on Mars 😂

I've done same as Simon Trapani, but if you wanted to stick it then I suggest using a 3m sticky pad, the same used for sticking gopro mounts to helmets etc.

Undo the four screws on the front, lift it off and screw it to whatever you want (obviously not the tank!). Refit the front cover.

There are two fixing points to screw the controller to a board as mentioned. These are diagonally opposite each other. As Simon mentioned remove the face plate and you will see the fixing points in the bottom left and top right corner of the box these are outside of the IP65 seal.

Second as suggest you can rear mount the controller using the four faceplate screws,

Third is good old Velcro, Double sided tape and even Gaffer tape. These all allow quick easy fixing and avoid the need to remove the faceplate.
Which ever way suits you ensure the faceplate is securely re fastened to ensure the IP65 seal.

get a thicker bit of plastic screw your pump an flow controller and make user none stick through, then tack it all off again then with you bit of plastic get industrial glue for plastic and bond it to your tank , when it's dry put every think back on, it will look better if you get same colour plastic then it would look much better,

Wow, my post is running on, thanks to everyone.  As Dazmond would say ‘i’m on holiday at the moment! Croatia, absolutely fantastic.
Going to refit the van on return,  finally moving from backpack to van mount.
