Title: How to quote commercial cleans with floor buffers
Post by: Paul Barrett on December 18, 2018, 10:29:17 am
Hi guys,

Quick question. How do you price a job where a floor buffer machine is involved?

Say you quote a normal job at £14 PH to include all cleaning products, but they also have a tiled floor that needs polishing (bright white such as car showroom) and this needs doing every week - do you increase the hourly rate significantly, add a fixed weekly fee for ongoing rent of this machine or buy one and move between locations?

Obviously these machines aren't cheap and anywhere between £1,000-£3,000 - so for a relatively small contract a big cost consideration.

Many thanks in anticipation.

firstly don't price per hour rate just work out how long the job will take and work out how much the job is worth to you.
first clean will normally take longer to do as you will not know what other cleaners have done before you.
after first clean you will know that it took you how ever many hours then you can price per metre which is always better than
an hourly rate. perhaps hire a machine for the first time and get a feel about who your working for.
best of luck and happy cleaning.
