Title: please can you do them again
Post by: duncan h on July 20, 2017, 08:55:08 pm
Don't you just love it when they ask you to start doing them again. Had 2 this month.
Got text asking to do them again. Played dumb and asked who it was and why they cancelled.
Sent message back saying, some guy put flyers through letter box charging £5. I charge £12. Its only a terrace house, but I do front then have to drive round back.
Hes only been once in 5 months or so
Not the best customer in the world, so price has gone up :)

Not really! I just tell them i'm too busy. I will have probably replaced them with a better customer.

For me it depends on a couple of things. 1st lol, what mood im in when they ask and how they ask. 2nd it depends what type of customer they were like in the past.

I had one for years, when i first took the job i charged her 6 quid (absolutely mad I know) but then I put her price up to 7.50 and after 3 months wasnt happy with price increase. Even though she has a small conny on back (it is small more like a large porch) and her neighbour pays £7 for less work. After a year she came back and asked for me to continue and so i explained she had lost her loyalty discount and I had to be fair to all my new customers and therefore she has the new prices. £9 for the house and £14 for house including porch//conservatory.

With this customer and many like her, you get the better price but also she will now be very unlikely to go with anyone else who offers a low price because she knows they dont stick it out. Win win

I've found returning cancelled customers tend to become the most loyal. As much as you love that phone call, they hate it. They now know your price is fair and tend not to repeat their mistake.

That's alright as long as they don't get someone who does as good a job at a cheaper price as in £10 for your £14 job.
Then they all slowly migrate.

Nor me. I've lost a couple or three but it's pretty rare.

Lost 8 in a cul de sac, all asian, over £2 difference in price.
They weren't too bothered about the quality of the clean or the fact that he comes when he feels like it or probably when his beer tokens run out.
