How much has your van insurance increased since last year? just got a renewal quote of £594 for a 2011 trafic with a 650 water tank. its gone up 37% :o :o :o :o Is it me or are they having a laugh? Ive got 12 yrs NCB (but they only give 5 yrs).

by juggling around from different insurance deals we have managed to save £518 by going to a fleet insurance ( 5 Vans )
but its always ringing around and play one broker off another - its surprising what can be saved when they realise you take your biz elsewhere ( no loyalty for renewing your policy - they treat you like a mug )

Just wondered if you or your new insurance company regard your 650 ltr tank as a modification or did you just get it insured as a removable load?

Mine went up by about £80 (50% !) but after a bit of a discussion with the Insurance Company we managed to settle on an increase of £8...which was a bit more palatable.

i told them it was a removable load. Its probably the extra mods. basically its been converted to a crew cab with an extra row of seats and two side windows, and camera front and back however, my mate's got a crew cab, is a gardener and carries petrol and machinery, yet his premium is only£284, so i will be giving his Ins. co. a ring.

Insurance in Ireland has gone through the roof. I bought a new van and it's going to cost me €1100 for fully comp and open driving with full no claims bonus. We are being ripped off big time over here.

you must have a real old van worth about £500 and be at least 60 years old with full NCB to get insurance at that price! ;D

Nearly :)
A Mk2 Ford Ranger 4x4 with a value of about £2,500. System non-secured but declared in detail, unlimited mileage and amazingly OFF Road Cover is included which has been issue in the past. Full NCB, access to two other vehicles and I'm 48 with a clean licence. Key factors for the low premium is that I've stuck with Gladiator who have price matched online quotes through Confused and Compare and most importantly I live in Devon which is one of the lowest risks in the UK, though slightly dearer than Dorset.

It's amazing how area affects it. My area was 300 quid more expensive than at my mother's house 10 mins down the road.

I think Caithness & Sutherland are about the cheapest with parts of the West Country not far behind.
