HI YA TO ALL YOU ECLIPSE USERS OUT THERE..Ive had mine for about 6 months and generally happy. Read on another thread that some of you guys leave it in the van on some jobs.?..Do you load it at home or outside customers house and presumably take electric cables in and leave the door open..
I HAVE IN LINE HEATER BUT FIND IT A DRAG SO ALWAYS CHECK WITH customer that there water is hot still not totally happy with that though..what about you
also find if using pre spray detergent that ball valve will cut off vacuums quite often requiring de foamer .. spoke to nick to day and sending me some more filters do you change yours everyday and or replace/wash/?/?

I dont have an eclispe but am wondering what chemicals your using to cause the foam???
The two problems with leaving it in the van are filling and emptying.

I Use mine as a Truckmount as often as i can :D
I often run a water hose to the van from house depending on how much work im doing.
Im having great results with it ;D
The one thing I dont like about it is the way you have empty it. Nick tells me he is working on that ::)
only ever have foam if carpet has been cleaned before by someone else!!!
Mark you can get auto dump and auto feed for the Eclispe

Hi guys
Already have a water tank installed, having a pump fitted monday running from the van battery, and trap door made in the van floor to run leads and hoses from,so i can lock van doors while working for security, will let you know how it works out :-*

Hello simon
Have you tried spraying silicone on the the inside of your hose ,this might help kill the foam before it reaches your tank

Hi Guys,
Having seen various demos of the Eclipse at the same time as Truckmounts there really is no comparison in power.
If I was going to go truckmount I would .
Otherwise a more portable(lighter) machine nearer the job , I believe , creates a better impression and gives at least as good a job.
There is also the cost factor that once you go for Eclipse plus heater etc , 3 thousand more and youve got a truckmount.
Cheers,
Doug

Hello doug
In a ideal world its nice to have both and some cc,s do,but with the eclipse you have as much power as you need, plus flexability and of course lower cost.
-
Mark,
Is it any quicker or a better job to leave a 3 vac portable inside a van and run various sections of hose , or take a 2 vac portable out and run 1 or 2 hose sections?
The 2 vac portable will be 30% cheaper even for a top of the range and have a marginally lower suction about 5 %.
Cheers,
Doug

Hi Doug
As i said you have great flexability with the eclipse,if you need to use the eclipse as a portable you can do ,but if you don,t need to take it off the van whats the point, and with the auto feed and dump it saves quite a lot of time, also in my opinon having the extra vac helps considerberly with performance and drying times, each to their own
cheers

"if you need to use the eclpise as a portable" it is a portable.

and can be used as truckmount

I think it depends upon the type of work your doing. If you mainly do residential and most of your work is one or two rooms or a suite then an ordinary portable will do the job. But if you do a little commercial and big residential then the extra 10mins to set-up the in-line heater and autofill or dump will be worth it. Having used a Ninja for the last few weeks its breaking my heart filling it so often due to its small tanks, waiting for the water to heat and only 100psi. But then its small, light, cheap and PORTABLE.
You buys what you needs.

I read the ICS mag website and they are always saying how using a 15ft 1.5 inch whip hose will cut down on the efficiency off a truckmount, so all the people who use thier Eclipse as a 'truckmount' how much power do you lose when you go the whole distance with 1.5inch vac hose? have you connected 100ft of vac hose and compared the amount of vacuum against the suction at the machine.

I dont see the need to TM the Eclipse. Saying that I never take the machine indoors, prefering to position the Eclipse outside the property using a pair of heavy duty extension leads powering the machine and heater while keeping everything tidy, despite having only 65ft of hose i've not found a situation where I cant reach the rooms I'm cleaning and this length doesnt seem to cause dramatic loss in performance either.

If you TM your Eclipse you will save your back lifting it out of the van and also the machine, imagine how many things work loose after a year or so if you are forever jolting it about or even pulling it up and down a ramp or over curb sides etc.

Hi Mike
you are spot on about the the efficiency. Lets not get into comparing it witha truck mounts, its as shaun says its save the in and out all the time.
If one of my staff uses it say for a lounge then she will get away with 75ft and its works very well at this distance. One very big advantage is with flats lots of new ones have plug sockets in the hall ways so you can run it from ground floor.
One other great advantage is say if you are doing a hotal type job with the auto fill and empty and the distance you can work from the machine you not forever moveing it you can get on with the job. I had it a office job the other day and the cleaners cupbords where on the landings outside the lifts so it was just hock it up, put the auto empty hose it the sink and away i go. eight floors of office block made easier. i have done this job with a ninja and i had my boy run back and forwards filling and emptying, most of the time.
The other area that I will be getting into is tile cleaning with it, got to do some test runs first as i have been told that 500 psi might not be powerful but the vacs should do it.
With gyms and etc and people having fully tiled bathrooms its a great addon.
Anyway everything has its place in the market and I like what the eclipse can do, for what it is. If anyone can tell me how to test the "lift" on the vacs i have a go and let you know.

my ninja will giv me insant heat and i never ever hav to fill it as i hav 400ltr tank with 12 vt auto fill and auto dump its totally truck mount fix in van it all depends on what spec u buy
