Title: Asking for testimonials
Post by: mxg on August 10, 2005, 12:28:06 pm
I would like to know how people have gone about capturing positive feedback from clients for inclusion in future advertising such as leaflets/websites etc

You know the sort of thing I mean:

"Your staff did a really good job. I was impressed with their attention to detail. I will be using your company again and I will also tell all my friends and neighbours how wonderful you are", Mrs. Smithers-Jones, Anytown

We get plenty of verbal stuff like the above but it doesn't get written down and we don't ask for permission to use it.

Do I design a form that I can magically produce whenever a customer starts to verbally compliment us ?

Or do I specifically mail regular customers and explicitly ask for it ?

Thanks for your help

Mick

Once you've built up a go0od relationship with your customers it shouldn't be too difficult to request a testimonial, give them a call or drop them an email.  You're better off asking personally though as it makes it mean more to the customer and yourself.
