Title: Who's got an RX-20 I can test drive?
Post by: Jim_77 on April 22, 2010, 04:01:20 pm
I'm here:

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&om=1&ll=52.395296,-0.717716&spn=0.070287,0.17355...

Anyone reasonably close who wouldn't mind lending me an RX for a couple of days?  I've got a big shop to do (425m² floor area) and think this would be an ideal time to test out an RX to see if I like it before I buy one :)

The closest I can think is our Steve in Coventry but thought I'd ask around as well!

Cheers

Dont you fancy the RV 360i
Ok its lighter weight, but more likely to get more use then the RX - most owners tend to stuff them in the shed cause they too big and heavy for most jobs, as good as they may be.
RV360i is about £1000 cheaper as well.
Dave Ingram has one and so does Goran - they love em.

Joe, I'm considering the RX for schools and bigger commercial jobs. TBH I wouldn't use a rotary extractor on domestics except in a few cases.

I had a go on the rotovac at CCDO, wasn't exactly blown away by it but not sure if it was the machine or just the fact it was connected to a spotting machine ( :D :D here we go!).  Anyway, running the machine around on a perfectly clean piece of carpet gives you absolutely no idea how it's going to perform in the real world.

I enquired recently to Alltec for priceing but didnt get a reply
Ashbys price on the web doesnt include a head so you need to add
Solutions have a web price but speak nicely to Nick

Had a look at the RV360i at ccdo, it's a versatile tool with the different heads available and I like the hard floor vacuum skirt.

BUT ......... like most things in our industry I think it is seriously overpriced !

I know of 2 people didn't like the hard floor attchment and said it left the floor too wet as for carpets when I tried it out over a year ago and quite recently at the CCDO I thought the new version was better and very easy to use and I'd have thought a must for a porti owner.

Shaun, does it not use loads of water with a porty?

I read a few negative comments about hard floor cleaning - leaving it too wet - but the 360i is supposed to have addressed that problem within the new design.

Gary, you dont need a lot of pressure for it to do its job - 200.  I doesnt go thro a lot of water, gets carpets clean and leaves them dryer then my wanding.

Apparently 135psi pump is enough and I believe they are £1500ish plus vat from Alltec, Solutions and Ashbys but extra for different cleaning heads.

Shaun: I thought you had a second hand one for sale.

Are they good on domestics. I want dryer carpets, with less ease, and hassle.

should I upgrade the porty, with the zimmer rotary or go truckmount, or prowler?
