Hi
Has anyone any experience in cleaning waste chutes.
These are the ones you get in blocks of flats one on each level where you dump your waste down them and it lands in a large bin at the bottom of the chute.
I know rentokill do it and have a special machine for the job.
I do not know what the machine is our how it works.
Cheers

I'm not sure what type of equipment they would use for that. If these chutes are a relatively small diameter I guess you could use some sort of drain cleaning attachment with a hot water pressure washer. The drain cleaning kits have rear facing jets that 'scrape' the dirt off. Not sure if it would be practical to use large volumes of water though..........
If I find any other info I'll let you know

Thanks Mike
I thought similar but perhaps steam rather than water.

Most of these jobs are when the chute is blocked.
and then it is just a case of going to every floor until you find the blockage and removing by hand.
Dirty, smelly and sometimes very dangerous.
never come across a scrub down before, but if you get the job one tip is to put small electric or battery powered air fresheners near shute doors.

No blockages just cleaning.
I can get Mosmatic Rotary Heads fixed or adjustable angle from 75mm to 600mm diamater these can be attached to high pressure hose and lowered down chute.
They would use a lot of water which would have to be captured and disposed of.
I could run the pressure through a hot box to increase cleaning power along with an inline chemical injector should do the trick I think.
Any more ideas any one.
