Title: fao domestic cleaners
Post by: richywilts on April 22, 2010, 12:06:06 am
im looking into domestic cleaning for my partner say i have a lot of leaflets knocked up etc what sort of properties and areas do you clean and find your best custom???

i know this is a very generalised question, but my perception of people needing house cleaning is pretty large detached houses that there owners are out at work  and find it hard to keep up with there general house cleaning and tidyin.

i gather i maybe wrong with this perception that is why i ask what sort of houses tend to be your most common customers??

is it
large detached??
semi detached??
apartments??
bungalows??

It honestly varies from area to area so does depend on where you are. Trial and error will play a large part.

We are within commuter distance from London so whilst we get a fair few large detatched houses our main clients are actually smaller 2-3 bed semi's/ terraces and even quite a few flats - "yuppy" areas basically - nice cars, nice-ish houses but no kids so plenty of spare dosh

You could have a look at the demographics of the area you intend supplying. Most of your target customers will more than likely be within band A, B or C1 (these are based on proffesional, Management, Middle Management & Supervisory ect).

Your local business link office/contact may be able to help with postcodes for the above in your target area. You could also consider using a speacialist company who could do it for you although they can be very expensive for a start up.

Good luck

you need to know your target audience?  we have been running this service 10 years & have always had a far better responce targeting your average 3 bed semi... we believe that finding areas of wealth and actively targeting the smaller houses in that area will yield better results?  probably due to them wanting to seem better off than their home states? or just because they both have to work hard to live in that area?
