Hi guys, wondered if your feeling charitable today, my sons doing a sponsored run for a charity called the joshua tree, its quite a personal charity as it was set up in aid of my sons best friends brother who has leukemia, you can read all about it on there website.(just google "the joshua tree charity")
i was wondering if you could spare some change to help him reach his target, maybe a £1 for everytime ive made you laugh, but please don't deduct a pound for everytime i've pee'd you off as i would be well in debt ;D
anyway heres hoping.
cheers

thanks pete.
-
forgot to mention, he's running this saturday. :o
-
Just to add
I remember a story I used to hear at Sunday School.
An old lady who cleaned for a living and earned a penny a day. That penny bought her fresh water and stale bread for a day. ie enough to survive and nothing more. But on a Sunday when the donations bag was handed around in church and all the rich people put their notes in she simply gave up her penny and went without for a day. That story has never left me.

How old is your son Derek ?
Not had chance to have a proper look at your new leaflet yet but will do tomorrow.
Paul

massive massive thanks to you guys, you've made my son a really happy lad, never seen him smile so much when i told him he'd gone over £200, not only have you helped him get all that money for a very worthwhile cause but also he thrashed his mates total. ;D
youve also made me the best dad in the world ;D
cheers guys, your all on my special kind of person list.
its usually quiet on here friday nights so can't see us raising anymore. he got £7 pound off his teachers ::) so a grand total of £213 in 2 days.
he runs tomorrow so i'll let you all know how he got on.
thanks again guys. over the moon
-
Come on guys, this sum should be double, lets see what can be done before midnight.
Hundreds post on here, and only a dozen or so donated.
Lets show them what us carpet cleaners can do, lots of us have kids, me too maybe by
end of weekend hopefully. You never know when your own may need help.
Even a couple of quid, better than psing up against a wall tonight.

cheers guys, can't believe its still going up on a friday.
-
Tell him if he gets his hair cut I'll put another £20 in
Derek,
You can tell those that have kids, they are in on a Frriday night.
-
Tell him if he gets his hair cut I'll put another £20 in
;D ;D ;D
no chance pete,
think he'd rather run the london marathon than have his hair cut, i was the exact same when i was 14, ac/dc, motorhead and all that. now look at me, not a strand in sight. ;D
-
Nice of the Chancellor of the Exchequer to donate the tax in the form of Gift Aid ........ he is a Darling!
-
It's the weight of those long strands Derek, pulls the folicles right out.
-
Cmon guys, its a great cause and you`ll get good karma.
Its at £246, Surely we can push it up over the £300 tonight.

Second that Rab
Just a fiver, I know it's more the hassle than the money for a lot of you. For those that it ain't cough up. Mat, you just done a £17k week ;)
-
Good to see, I only wish I could grow my hair that long ;D ;D ;D
Wish him all the best Derek
-
Good luck connor,c'mon guys get them hands in ur pockets for a worthy cause.
-
There you go, as most of you know my daughter did a charity swim earlier in the year and she received great support from here and CCDO, I'd love to think Connor will receive the same.
It's great to see youngsters actually getting up and doing something to help a cause like this......but for the grace of god any one of us could be in need of the help of Joshua Tree or other charities at some stage in our life.
That's why I also make every effort to give blood whenever I can.......I may need some of it back at some stage in my life and I hate being in debt to anyone, especially not him upstairs (or downstairs!!!!)
-
i'd just like to thank everyone who donated, connor completed his 5k in just under 30 mins which i think is a fantastic time considering he can't see where he's going half the time with all that hair ;D
i'm overwelmed with the support off here and you've not only helped a really good cause, youve made a young boy extremely proud. once again i'd like to thank you all, and all though i aint got much to offer, if i can return the favour just give me a shout.
cheers guys.
derek
ps...the man in shining armour, you have mail.
-
and all though i aint got much to offer,
We know, your wife told us ;D ;D ;D
Regards
Daryl
-
;D
i hate it when she does that. ;D
-
quick update, neil williams has offered to send a cheque for £30 for connor (top man neil) so his grand total is now £347. thats a massive amount for such a short time and it also makes connor the biggest fund raiser for the event. i take my hat off to all that helped out.
makes me proud to be a carpet cleaner.
-
still coming in, unbelievable, thanks roger.
-
;D
Just to get it back to the top of the page, come on everyone, dig deep, a tenner won't put you into liquidation and it may just help someone who's life is ebbing away due to leukemia.
-
i'm not sure if theres anyone left ian? i keep texting connor everytime a new amount goes on his page and he's running out of describing words for how amazed he is. ;D i think "woop woop" was the last one, ;D
-
Is the second picture his trainers after he finished ;) ;)
Glad he did well Derek
-
yes andy and theres a good 5 years left in them yet. ;D
-
That's why I also make every effort to give blood whenever I can.......
I can't do the 'blood' thing but I do like to give to such causes because the day may come when I'm in need or someone close to me is in need, and I believe as a carpet cleaning community we should be there for each other.
-
yes andy and theres a good 5 years left in them yet. ;D
I thought they might be useful for a live demo in the middle of a trauma cleaning training course :o
-
still coming in, this is phenominal, Thank you mr elliot. ;)
this is gonna be one expensive round if i ever meet all of ya in a pub, but worth it. :)
