Have just received a promotional offer on a Craftex Grace 5020
£1295.00 with free in line heater and ext hose
Seems a good deal!!
I would appreciate any feedback on perfomance and reliability as I have never used one of these machines

Craftex have a great reputation, I don't think they would sell crap. how many vac motors does it have and what size pump?
when chosing a machine you should take vacs, pump, heat & tank capacity into concideration, has does it compare to others on the market?

We normally use machines from Woodbridge Commercial but have become veryy disollusioned

I believe the Craftex machines are from Italy, are well made and perform well.
Craftex are also about to launch a thermal rotary machine similar to the Dry fusion system

Seems agood deal.
An important aspect to check is the hose quality.
Why are you disillusioned with Woodbridge.

It's a reliability and service thing machines breaking down repair after repair things taking a week or more to sort out etc
But then maybe it'show my guys use them
On the hose front I see what you mean on the photo it looks more like a Henry hose

Hi Simon,
I've had loads of problems with Extracta hoses so replaced them with Woodbridge.
However the Woodbridge hose is only 300psi rated and was as bad as the Extracta.
I recently purchased an Alltec Advantage with 3000 psi hose which I'm hoping will prove much more reliable.

I know a man who can get 3000 neptune hoses at a reasonable rate any length to 100 m

i bought a this grace machine just after xmas, it was not my first choice of machine but when i looked at spec price and looks decided that as internal parts such were readily available and the fact i got extra hose and basic stair and upholstry tool "and heat" for 1,700 which you do not get for 2,000 with prochem or others a good buy.
the machine work very well leaves carpet nearly dry and looks impressive, i would like to know if it would be poss to fit a larger pumpeventually though and then buy better hand tools, a good start machine though and if you buy as i did to test the water of the carpet cleaning business and if it takes off for you it will make a perfect cheap backup machine
ps this is a hard business to be in as i am finding but very very satisfying when you get and completework though

Ive had my grace for several years now and found it to be v.reliable machine, although use it now for a back up. More re-enforced hoses are available for it, speak to jason.

Maybee the prices are coming down closer to the price you would pay in States pound dollar equilivent.
However the smaller suppliers are leading the way.
But do you get back up. Craftex probably yes.

I've no experience of the Grace but have used a Craftex Sabrina for years as a spotter and sometimes for upholstery and it has been very reliable far better than the Prochem Spot Pro which I threw out after using it for a year. Sabrina and Grace are both from the same Italian manufaturer and Craftex are a great company to deal with with excellent customer service. The offer sounds really good.
The Therma Dry system mentioned above has been on the market for a few months now and I've used nothing else to clean carpets since its launch, it's great.

I have a sabrina maxi made by the same company and it is a good, simple reliable machine excellent for cleaning small areas (used as my back up). the grace is the larger version twin vac same size pump etc. Craftex are great to deal with friendly, efficent and reasonably knoledgeable. if you buy their machine try there cleaning products there as good as anything on the market and reasonably priced. This machine will more than deal with most jobs.

P.s the components are easy to swap over if a vac or pump goes its a 10 minute job, No need to fork out for expensive repairs.

The advantage is a superb machine and the Neptune 3000 hose is fitted to truckmounts. You will not have a problem with it. Alltec sell the 7.5m hoses made up if anyone wants them or Goodyear make the hose which can be purchased from hydraulic suppliers with a Goodyear account.
