Title: Year end accounts bill.
Post by: lee09 on April 17, 2010, 03:19:24 pm
Hi all.

It's the time of year that my books go off to the accounts. I have always used a guy who collects them and files them on line and then returns them with his bill and notification of my tax bill.
He lives about 60 miles away and has asked me to post them to him this year to keep costs down. :P
I use George and print off the monthly sales and expenditure sheet then staple the receipts to it.
I don't know how much work he does for his fee of around £350.
I am not happy about posting my years work, how would I prove my expenses if it got lost in the post?
Just wondered if you use someone local and what sort of figure do you pay.

Mine's about £350, chartered accountants.

I sort everything into order & produce an income/expenditure statement for them. They fill in my tax return online & are there if I need advice. ;)

I too thought this was a tad expensive so looked at another chartered accountant & their entry fee started at £595 + vat!! for the same service. :o :o

I photocopy everything I send to my accountant.

Accountants are thievin sods (sorry lammy but they are).

If there is some kind of dispute or disagreement with yours then at least he wont have you by the short and curlies.

£350 sounds pretty good to me.
