Is doing all of my neighbours houses as I write this.
He dropped me because I was never in to pay him cash and had to post a cheque ( I think )
However got him to thank for getting me aware of this fantastic business !!
He just done 8 houses on the cul de sac each at £6 ... Im getting £12 for smaller houses .... mine and the neighbours have 16 windows and 2 lots of patio doors each so a tad undercharged at £6.
Feel territorial as it was me that brought him onto the estate and looks like he canvassed all of my neighbours houses .... which is fair enough as any good W/C would do the same.
Should I undercut him when I go full time or take the view that at £6 he is welcome to them ;)
-
btw I never undercut this post is more tounge in cheek than serious .... just in case people get all excited about me undercutting ;D
-
in a word...NO ::) if the muppet is doing them that cheap let him carry on ;D
-

Why do you want your neighbours?
Neighbours should be seen and not heard!
We have been on the go since 1992, we don't do any on our street and don't want to either!

Snap. When I turn into my road it's time for a beer not cleaning windows!

It really amazes me the amount of people who come on here just to slag off some other window cleaner who charges less than they do ::)
So the guy charges £6. His customers are obviously happy. He's obviously happy. Perhaps he doesn't ned to earn any more than he is. Who's to say he's wrong and you're right ??? ??? ???
Do you reckon the boss of M&S pops on to the Supermarket forum site to slag off Asda for selling a dozen eggs for just 70p when they do them for £2.99.
You really need to take a good look at yourself mate and stop your whining :'(
-
neither do i, in fact i have turned down neighbours. the windae that does them is a good guy a does a good job at half the price i would take anyway

Harsh.

Why ??? ??? ???

Why ??? ??? ???
I'm almost certain that the CEO of M&S watches the prices that ADSA sell eggs for every day.
Hence the reduction of prices at M&S in recent months.
He was not whining.
You say that the window cleaner and his neighbours are obviously happy.
How do you know?
1 person on that street has already been cancelled by this guy and he now does them himself...............
-
Sorry but £6 is ridiculous!!! Window cleaners have been charging £1+ per window for years now!! Let him have them, and get yourself some decent work! ;)

ive picked up the majority of my neighbours, all good money in 4 bed detached houses. i like it as its compact and near to home so i dont need to travel. the first round i ever bought was on my old estate, people appreciate it as they know they can trust you, all of my original customers know me by name and my wife, and the rest of my family, i have an excellent relationship with them all and they know they can trust me to look out for their houses if their not in or on holiday
-
well said ste ows anfeild coming on ;D
-
wont be going anywhere near it until i felt confident that i could price it right, although i must say i do possess some insider knowledge so i could take a sort of educated guess ;D anyway id also prefer to wait till i go hot as it would make life easier on big jobs like that ;D

Agreed, mscontractcleaner was over the top, flaming of this nature is not acceptable, the thread is light-hearted in nature.
As to the topic... Just watch him and smile to yourself, he may well be happy and content to charge as he does, and at that price most of his customers are probably happy to accept a possibly low standard of work....but he is still a muppet for undervaluing himself so much!
There is a guy by us who's happy to work all hours, Saturdays and Sundays included, miles cheaper than me (even cheaper than Squeaky!) I just shake my head and continue to charge half as much again as he does....and I've still got so much work I'm really struggling to get around on time....
Mmmm...maybe if I worked Saturday and Sunday....

why do this, how would you feel if you did a custy house and they did this too you
i dont get this business, people come on here looking for advice and at the start they get it, then after a while some one moans about some one being cheaper and its the worst crime ever, if he can work for that they n that is up to him,
my bro in law has to earn 3 grand a month to just pay the bills, i have to earn a grand, does that make me a dole scum, or should i be laughed at just becasue i dont have to earn as much as him
-
I would say leave the guy to it, your clearly annoyed because he dumped you :P
I would not want to clean all my neibours windows and defo not for £6 each.
Maybe next time he comes round ask if you can prearrange to leave the money for him, he may take you back if you ask nicely ;D :-*
